Those that have gone through this in the past and have been hurt, their past becomes an issue. If our past is not healed, it will become our enemy. If we don't divorce our past, we won't be able to move forward. This is why Paul said in Phil 3:13 to forget what is behind and strain toward to hold what is ahead. Regardless of what took place yesterday, if we don't let it go, we are not in our today in faith. A person that has let go of yesterday stands in today in faith and looks toward his/her future in hope.
‘No, dear brothers and sisters, I have not achieved it, but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us.’
Philippians 3:13-14
