Greetings Wrkplacer
I'm delighted to have been invited to join you and the other dozen souls on here. I look forward to being inspired by everyone. Thanks Jay! I'm Anthony, originally from New Zealand, now living on Samos Island in the Aegean. On my forty year wander after leaving school, I have taught myself how to design homes and had a successful architecture practice. I designed in earth and straw, too. I co parented children, and now have 8 grandchildren. All except one are in NZ, so I haven't seen them for several years. In this century, I have lived in an intentional community, and ended up running the place until I went exploring. I went online and found all sorts of things there, and then to America, where I worked in the mountains, met my second wife, a portrait artist, and renovated an abandoned house on the Canadian border. Now we live in Greece, although it is not our 'home'. We're still wondering where that is - and have considered Panama, Jay! My obsession for a long while has been to understand why people did things, to find out the nature of human motivation, in other words. I have concluded that our values alone motivate our actions, which of course led me to ask another question: what can we do to advance these values? My focus now is writing about the things I have uncovered, so I can share them with those who wonder what they should do, or do next.

Hi everyone! I’m Adriana from Toronto Canada and I’m a narcissistic abuse recovery coach. I’ll try to keep this short 😅 I was raised by a narcissistic mother and was involved in several romantic relationshits with narcissistic men. It wasn’t till my final breakup with a narcissist in 2014 that I went down a Google rabbit hole and learned that not only did I have a little pattern of dating narcs, but I was also raised by one. I broke the cycle and found my now husband, but wouldn’t have a clue about how to heal until 2019 when I had extreme chronic pain. After a wisdom tooth extraction in 2015, I began having physical problems-tmj dysfunction, neck pain, migraines every day, shoulder pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, and more. Then in 2018 I started a treatment to realign my jaw to maybe not get migraines anymore. Then in oct of 2018 I got shingles, in my mouth, while doing this jaw treatment. It was absolute hell and I ended up with something called trigeminal neuralgia which is nicknamed the suicide disease. I told my husband I’d try to give him another 10 years before he’d have to call himself a widower because if I was already in this much pain at 30 I was terrified of how much worse my pain would get as I aged. In Jan 2019 I discovered the mindbody connection that my physical pain was connected to repressed emotions from childhood trauma. I thought it was bs but I had “the gift of desperation” so I did the inner work and sure enough was pain free within 4 months. This inspired me to become a coach and help others with chronic pain. The more I shared my story about being raised by a narc the more it resonated with others so here we are today and I help survivors of narc abuse heal not just emotionally but also physically. I’ve been doing this since 2019 and love it, and my main goal is to have a consistent stream of clients without burning myself out. Super excited to be in this group and learn from you all!

Hi everyone! My name is Hania and I currently live in San Francisco and work as an engineer in medtech. Originally from Egypt and moved to America for college like 10 years ago. I got laid off from my previous job in May 2023 and I said fuck it and spent 6 months traveling. After that I landed a job in Nov 2023 and moved back to SF for a hybrid job (in office 3 times a week). It was tough getting back to an office job after tasting that freedom and I am now realizing that I don’t ever wanna go to an office again. So my current goal is focused on career transition. Not really ready to start a business yet. My main goal is to have a fully remote job. Working remote will allow me to travel freely and have the life I want while also building a career. I’d also love a job that is more aligned with my interests and every though medtech is a great field, it’s just not what I’m passionate about and not what drives me everyday. I would therefore love to work in the music industry (I make music, I go to shows like every week, and it is my main hobby!!!) something in the intersection of music + tech.
