The Future of the Group
Hi all, I apologize for not being very present lately. We have quite a few big projects going on including a new virtual tour that will be live in a few weeks, our agroforestry project at the farm, and forming new partnerships that will help fund the development of more educational content. We will likely shut down this page in the coming weeks as we don't have the capacity to moderate this space. I want to stay in touch with everyone through other platforms. If you are on Instagram, please post your handle below so I can follow you. If you would like updates on our virtual tours, please sign up for our newsletter atĀ EdgePerma.com. Everything we are currently working on will be accessible for free on our website. Thank you for being a part of the Permaculture Collective. Andrew

Camelids in permaculture?
Hey all. We have found ourselves in a position to accept a small herd of alpacas on our farm. I've been devouring as much information as I can get my hands on before move-in day, but so far I'm not finding a ton of info about using alpacas or other camelids in a permaculture system. Does anyone here raise them, or know of someone who does that has it documented somewhere? Thanks!

Iā€™ve seen them used as livestock guardian animals for sheep. They will protect a flock from any large predator. Other than that I donā€™t have much information.
Help Us Plan Our Food Forest
We just received news that we will be receiving a grant through our local conservation district. We will have $10,000 to buy plants. What are you interested? What should we grow? Attached is a list of 50 productive plants for this region that we put in many of our designs. What stands out to you as something we should plant.

@Joanie Firnstahl Koorn Thank you!!! Your creeping raspberry is so delicious! I would love to plant some at the farm! How interesting. I didn't know about lemon balm and mint cross pollinating. How does it taste? I bet it would make a great tea.
