Meal prepping
Meal prepping and measuring is easy when the foods are separated. Protein/carb/fat What confuses the heck out of me is when meals are made and things get combined - zucchini lasagna. I've dabbled in macro counting but this is when it gets complex. And with a family of boys who are all meat and potato guys, it's just hard. Send help. Meal prep all my meals for me 🤣🤣🤣

@Jill Westfall this, and also the days when you've worked 10-24hrs straight and get home but you're so exhausted it doesn't even cross your mind to find a scale so you just say "eh ... one banana" in myfitnesspal, and go with the estimate and hope for the best. Or (even worse) you're at work for thr 24-48hr shift covering icu and you run out of food no matter how much healthy you pack, so you have to pick between starving or eating what's available. "Just fast!" Isn't an option if you are about to do a very cognitive and labor intensive procedure that you need to fire on all cylinders for. And then (this is my issue) what if you're doing 24-48hr shifts 2-3 times a week with no days off so you never get the down time to prepare food. So you make a huge lasagna and freeze it in individual servings, but you don't get a microwave at work or you don't get a long enough break to use the microwave for the full period of time it takes to unfreeze it. But even if you get all those stars somehow aligned, the stress hormones you have in excess snag up any progress you've been making regardless. 🫠

Sorry- this is my own lament and totally not helpful lol
Introduction
Morning all, I'm Angie. I'm an internist in Canada working as a "professional locum" around the country (though the longer I do this, and the more our current health and political system evolve, the more interested I am in considering a move to the US). Presently I'm in the midst of my first (and only) 5-6 week locum stint (would not recommend) which has, unfortunately, thrown off essentially every aspect of my life from a health perspective. Looking forward to reading and discussing the pursuit of goals (particularly the part where we don't get discouraged when we physically and temporality-wise have sufficient time to care for ourselves on account of our careers). Have a great day !

@Michael Martin Potentially stress (and subsequent related cortisol) management during intense prolonged work stints, and as mentioned above looking into reading and discussing the pursuit of health-related goals, and how not to get discouraged when we physically and temporality-wise have insufficient time to care for ourselves on account of our careers!
I need a big favor…
The feedback to this poll is massively important and your participation would mean the world to me… I have a question… What is the MOST important thing to focus on when attempting to lose body fat?

Diet (getting 1g/lb as a vegetarian requires a massive amount of planning)
