Selling the Dream?
When you ask someone if they or "I" have successfully done “X” to give yourself confidence, you might be misleading yourself. Just because someone else has succeeded or failed at something doesn't mean you will achieve the same result. Your own drive and perseverance are what will determine your success or failure. Period. I've been in this industry for over 30 years, and I've fallen for shiny object syndrome too. But I'm also an information sponge; it's a hobby to dive into many things, though it's getting harder with age...lol. The Trap of Following Trends I see people registered in countless groups (not knocking it), but it often indicates they don’t know what they want and are hoping someone else's success will spill over to them. It doesn’t work that way, folks. People who can't decide between SMMA or AI (AAA) and other buzzwords—I get it, I really do. But you need to step back and understand what these are, how they operate, and whether they fit your desired lifestyle. Learn from others, but chart your OWN path if you want to succeed. The Realities of SMMA, AI, and SEO SMMA can be complex and a headache, with many people being misled. AI or AAA (AI Automation Agency) is laughable to me. I've built a 30-year career on automation and software development, and seeing people fall for the latest fad is disheartening but not surprising. Are any of these bad? No, it depends on you. Look at SEO (now part of SMMA); you can’t be a true SEO expert and master everything else unless you’re me, of course...JUST KIDDING. These skills take time, trial and error, and a lot of work. You don’t just wake up one morning, pay a guru $5k, and suddenly become an SEO, SMMA, AAA, or any other trendy term. Making an Informed Decision My point is, you need to understand these different technologies and business models to make an informed decision about whether they’re right for you—then COMMIT. Stop hopping around until you’ve spent 1,000 hours and $10,000+ investing in making it work.

Finally, an expert who speaks the truth. I'm still in this trend syndrome and I'm trying to get out of it.(not easy...) But after several years in this situation, I think the first thing to do when you want to launch a business model is to “know yourself”. As Rob says, you have to look at what the model involves and determine whether it suits your personality. Seeing yourself in the business or not allows you to choose a path. The key is to see the one where there are the fewest barriers between success and your personality. Barriers will always exist, the trick is to identify them and have the confidence to remove them.
To be or NOT to be (Solar) that is the question.. 🤔
I've gone with Solar as my first venture in offering DBR. Many of these solar dudes seem to have large lists of aged leads (50k+). Converting even 1% could be significant for me, but I'm worried these lists might be the epitome of low quality. Has anyone found success with similar lists, or was it a waste of time and resources? What has been your experience with the Solar industry in general?

It is interesting to clean first a database before doing a test DBR campaign.

For a first test, be careful to get the best segment possible of the "dead leads" - not too old in order to get a good result.
What are your experiences with DBR campaigns?
A lot of leadgen go to DBR campaigns with gohighlevel and AI. Did you already made one and what are the results ? tks

Indeed, a fair warning is needed and a good agreement as well. Did you already do a DBR ?
Clean Email Lists With n8n
Using n8n to scrub emails from a list and put the good ones into a clean list in DB and SENDY. Nice little helper, .... imported 340k addresses into a mysql database, queried 10k then send through a free email checker ( https://disify.com ... its basic but works pretty well, format, disposable, dns and domain checks), sending the good emails to a new clean table in the DB and into SENDY where I can send 100k emails per day with no sweat using Amazons SES. Now to tie in MX and domain blacklist checks.

The Truth About Lead Funnels and What We’re Doing Differently 🚀
Hey everyone, I want to address something that frustrates me in the lead generation world: the way some “gurus” out there make it sound like creating a lead funnel is a magical ticket to riches. They’ll tell you to just “build it and they will come,” but they conveniently skip over the technical aspects that actually make or break your funnel. Now, this isn't a jab at all the gurus (lol) – some of them are friends and close colleagues of mine. They have a different take on things, and while they might be wildly successful, the truth is that maybe only 1-3% of their students actually achieve success with what they bought. It’s just a common statistic, correct me if I’m wrong. However, we’re seeing more people find success lately with the advent of AI and its integration into lead generation operations and funnels. This field is really growing, and I’m happy to see that. GoHighLevel (GHL) has released some great Conversation AI solutions, and there are several other platforms that offer even more features. One of the things we’ll be focusing on heavily in The LeadGen Lab is AI, because, damn, it works! Whether you're just learning about lead generation, aiming to build a business as a leadgen expert, or want to generate more leads for your existing business, you're in the right place. Here’s what we’ll be doing differently in The LeadGen Lab: we focus on the nuts and bolts of building lead funnels that work. We don’t overcomplicate things. Sure, there are advanced tricks with code and APIs, but our goal is to empower everyone to move forward at their own pace. If you’ve bought into one of those $5,000+ courses and found yourself lost in the maze of confusing instructions, you’re not alone. Here, we simplify the process and ensure that no one gets left behind. Our community is about pitching in to help each other succeed, so if you’re stuck, we’ll get you past that barrier and onto success. Whether it’s generating leads, selling leads, or refining your funnel flow, The LeadGen Lab is your place to get real about what works and what doesn’t. We’ll make sure you’re set up for success without the hype and empty promises.

Great Rob, it is nice to be real about what works and what doesn’t. 😅 Not always the case.
