I'm learning open chords and my main struggle is when there is no similarity in finger positions like C to G where as E to Am is easy.

Hello Allie and everyone. I’m Carl from northeast Oklahoma. I’m a retired older beginner at 73. I’ve been learning some basic chords by strumming, but when I tried finger picking it was easy to tell that I was muting strings. Right now my challenges are finger dexterity, chord transition, and clean notes. I’ve played drums for years, so I have the rhythm part down.

I’m a 73 year old beginner and my wife and I like to travel with our RV. I played drums for years, but a guitar is much easier to travel with.
