When their dad passed, they each wanted to feel like they were providing for their own family. They split the farm down the middle trying to make it as equal as possible. The older brother would get up in the morning, feed the animals, water the field, and pull weeds. The younger would research the best methods to produce high yields, negotiate with buyers for better prices, and shop for new equipment, then get out around noon and often found himself running out of daylight before he got all his work done. After years of struggling and getting less and less done, the younger brother ask his elder what he could do to save his farm. The older brotherβs response. βWake up, feed the animals, and water your crops. There is nothing more important on the farm, so there is nothing that should be done before that.β 2. A man was teaching us children with two empty jars one day. He also has a bag of Sand, a cup of pebbles, and several large rocks. He poured the sand into one of the jars and challenged his children to put the large rocks inside. Not all would fit. He then out the large rocks in the other jar, poured the pebbles in with them and finally added the sand from the other jar as well. Astonished that everything fit in one jar the children asked how he had done it. He explained that as with life, if you prioritize the largest and most important parts you will still have space for other things. 1 Challenge Share what the most important uses of your time and energy are this week.
