@Will Needham Wo. check out this demo. Not sure how it was done but open mirroring can enable write-back with nothing more than an excel file. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QlWEUyeuqAk

@Will Needham Cool. He just dropped a video on how he did it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dALgW9WzcDU
Enriching Data from a Database with User Generated Content
Wondering what strategies people like to use for merging data created from users with data pulled from a database. For example, if there is a list of transactions that your team provides comments or other info about and you want to merger the user comments with the transaction data, what is the best approach?

Help Needed: Pipeline->Dataflows->Lakehouse->PowerBI
In the pre Fabric days is when I was fairly good with PowerBI and would use the Desktop for all the steps of importing data, transforming and then creating reports. The client I am working with has Fabric and we want to do it "properly" but find I am getting lost with a few stages. I have a workspace with the premium feature enabled with the diamond icon Can someone explain, if this is possible? I may have the steps or technical terms mixed up, but this is my general understanding of what I'm trying to achieve: 1. Import an on premise SQL into Fabric (Datapipeline?) 2. create a Lakehouse for this data 3. Transform and clean the data (Dataflow) 4. have a custom (or default) semantic model attached 5. Import the Lakehouse as a data source into PowerBI Desktop so that it inherits the semantic model AND data 6. Create reports/dashboards in Desktop 7. Publish: Once reports/dashboards are published they are refreshed based on the Lakehouse (frequency set by the Dataflow?) 8. Be able to modify the entire workflow as the needs evolve At the moment this last step (modify the workflow) seems to be the hardest part... If this is too vague then I can provide some specific examples of the steps in which I feel like I am close to achieving this but am blocked. Thanks!

Hey Bart, You might check out the Dojo module on this platform. Especially DP0002 which uses IoT data but replicates workflows you might be familiar with from desktop.
End users (Non-Tech) ability to update variable data for validatations
Hopefully this makes sense but we may have a scenario where in our pipeline for moving data from say bronze to silver and doing validation checks we will have a threshold variable that maybe changed by a end users, this picture would be making it going from say 1,000 dollar sale to 1,500 and could see this being a default and override depending on the day (say week before Christmas this number needs to go up even more). In old world of SQL and c# building days we would have a portal and user updating a table, in fabric world with notebooks, what maybe some best practices for non-tech end users to be able to configure this and can we pull this variable I guess from just another table in the warehouse/lakehouse maybe?

Hey Justin. I have a similar question. There are some good links in the answers to my question posed on this forum. One thing I've been playing with is self-join tables following this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8cmuEpF3oOg

This is an interesting take on SCD2 and whether it makes more sense to just make snapshots https://maximebeauchemin.medium.com/functional-data-engineering-a-modern-paradigm-for-batch-data-processing-2327ec32c42a @Will Needham
