A Cry for Help
I feel like I'm drowning in a sea of expectations. Everyone around me seems to be thriving, excelling in ways that make me feel invisible. No matter how much I try, I'm not the best in my school, and it leaves me with a heavy emptiness that I can't shake off. Sometimes, it feels like there's no point in continuing if I can't be good enough. I know that I shouldn’t feel like this, but I do, and it scares me. I need help, because I'm struggling to find a reason to stay.

Hey Omar, I’m sorry that u fee like this, but trust me, it’s so worth it to continue working hard to achieve your goal! At a certain point, it’s important to think long-term. Something that motivates me is my career goal. Would I love to get into Harvard? Of course! And I’ll try to work hard for it. But, even if I get into a community college, I’ll still want to study there, then pursue the career I’m passionate about. I would suggest you focus on yourself for a while. Improve your academics, but not just for the ego boost. Do it for your goal, it’ll make you feel so much better :) I hope this helps, good luck!
How valuable is research if it isn't submitted to science fair?
Hi! Here's another post about me stressing about my life 😅 I've been working on a Personal Project for one of my classes at school, and it's taking up most of my time. I want to do research as well, but I don't have an idea yet. If I compete in my regional competition my abstract would need to be submitted in February. So, how valuable would my research be if it isn't submitted to a science fair? Also, I'm pretty passionate about biomed sciences, but I don't have access to a lab. What are some examples of research in that field without the use of a lab? Thank you :)

Thank you :)) Also, I'm a sophomore in high school, so what can I do research-wise to ensure I don't fall behind?
Happy 15,000 Members!
It's amazing how we've reached 15,000 students! Quick poll: Should we make a parent group? If so, which platform?

Honestly, I like the idea of a parent group. Of course, it depends on the parenting style, but if my parents knew about this community, I probably wouldn't have learned about research so late. I hope parents don't force their children to pursue something they don't enjoy though..
Reading ACT tips
Hey guys, I’m taking the act in December and reading has always been one of my lowest sections. Any tips to get my score up?

Hi! I'm taking the ACT in December too, and I've been trying to increase my reading score too T-T I would suggest you find patterns in what you're doing wrong. It's not as helpful to do as may practice tests as possible without targeted practice and that "ptsd" from the types of questions you get wrong.
Free time at school
On most days at school, I end up having a lot of free time after I finish my assignments. Is there anything productive I could do during that time to keep me from scrolling on social media?

Hey :) I tend to struggle with the same problem. Firstly, I'm proud of you for prioritizing your schoolwork before social media! Something that's helped me is to set time limits on my phone for apps I spend too much time on. I also deleted a few apps that weren't super useful. For example, I have a 15-20 minute limit on YouTube and I deleted Snapchat. I find that this method holds me accountable :) If you have lots of free time, I would suggest you practice a hobby or start a passion project (like research, for example 😅). You could discover fields of interest and create something that's a good use of your time! I hope this helps :)
