Biggest Regret from a Skool Games Winner: Not Setting Up Google Ads Audiences 540 Days Ago
I was talking to March Skool Games winner @Scott Haug about retargeting his substantial (133,000 subscriber) YouTube audience. He, Iโ€™m sure like many of you, figured that when the time comes to run ads to that audience, he will just start running them. The issue with that is that in order to run retargeting ads (hint hint - something @Alex Hormozi recommended in Mondayโ€™s Q&A), you have to have a populated list of at least 1000 people. This goes for your YouTube subscribers as well as for people who have visited your Skool About Page and/or signed up for your free orย paid Skool community. He, like most, did not know that in order to use those audiences you have to set them up in advance and have them populate over time. โ€œI wish I would have known to create those buckets 540 days ago.โ€ The sooner you set up your Google Ads audiences, even if you donโ€™t plan on using them any time soon, the more people you will have there to target when you choose to run ads. Do it. You will not regret it. You may even thank me later :) Have you done it?

โšก๏ธ Why I chose Skool.
(And how I'm building a stress-free business on the weekends in my 30s) What made you choose this platform?? **Keep in mind this was originally for my small (but mighty) Youtube following - so it's not intended to serve as a funnel here. I just wanted to share it for anyone who is on the fence about whether or not this platform works.

โ—๏ธ๐Ÿ”ฅ Be the Group that Ranks in Discovery!
I have group members who are ranking in the top 3-5% of active communities with less than 10 members!! Sam Ovens has said that while new members help, the algorithm heavily favors RECENT activity. So guys you literally need 3 things to start ranking: 1. Daily posts from you (the community owner) 2. Posts that are easy to engage with ("show me your desk set up", "what's everyone working on?", "what're your weekend plans?", "what's your favorite GIF rn?", etc.) 3. Comments from you on your people's stuff! And then (periodically) tag other members and ask them to comment too. That's it. You'll be in the top 5% in 5 days.

@Deleted ah such a tough question - everyone has an individual preference - some ppl in my community prefer strategy insights, some people prefer just for fun posts, some people prefer posts that ask a direct question. The right answer is get to know ur members on an individual level and youโ€™ll be able to post something for everyone. The short answer is people love sharing about themselves haha. So posts that encourage people to promote what theyโ€™re working on, or share wins usually get a lot of engagement:)
Who has helped you the most on Skool?

๐ŸŽฉSAVE YOURSELF TIME AND BUDGET YOUR ENERGY WISELY 1. You're going to see something that's "off" and it's going to irk the sh*t out of u 2. Take a deep breath 3. Laugh it off 4. Get back to doing what's URGENT & IMPORTANT ๐ŸฅฝSTORY: Today I saw the SLIGHTEST imperfection in a graphic I had worked on a while ago. I paused.. I thought about how long it would take ME to fix it. I took a moment and mentally measured the significance of it... I laughed and said to myself "IT DOESN'T EVEN MATTER! (ESPECIALLY WHEN PLACED BESIDE THE OTHER THINGS I HAD ALREADY PLANNED TO GET DONE TODAY.)" ๐ŸฅผSummary: If I didn't notice it the first time and lived peacefully, NOT knowing... i can go another however many days until i schedule the time to fix it. There is that "If it can be done in under 2-minute rule then knock it out." but with this, i didn't lie to myself and get distracted. Instead, I invested 30 minutes into writing this post while listening to some good music. If something else much more significant had come to my attention and it was an emergency, then there's a new opportunity for discernment and shifting gears, but in this example, it was something that came up that could be set aside for a different time. Skool family, beware of these traps. The mind will play tricks on us and find ways to get distracted, it will notice opportunities to drift and procrastinate. ๐ŸฉณResult: 4 Hours Saved 20,000 Energy Points Retained 192,496 Mindfulness Experience Points Earned (Level Up!) 1 New Skool Strategy Provided for our fellow "Perfectionists" 5,028,389 Perfectionists Delivered from Deception (and Rising) Bonus: The amount of $ earned in the time that was almost spent ๐Ÿ‘ŸReference: 7 Habits of Highly Effective People - (Time Management Matrix)
