Hotel Gym to Myself
I’m traveling with work this week and was able to still get much of what I needed to in the tiny hotel gym. Plus, being alone means not scared of taking pictures! 💁🏻‍♀️

@Charleen Meredith thank you!! Definitely did what I could with dumbbells and honestly even a little bit of a hotel workout is a win bc normally I’d just say “it’s not my regular gym, so I won’t bother” 😂
WHOAH!!
Going to be vulnerable and put this out there, I did Phase 1 lower body workout today after 5 weeks of not being to the gym due to sickness then injury (not gym related) and WHOAH, that was a workout!! Not sure if I just became very unfit in that timeframe or if the workout was more full on than I’m used to but I tell u, I had moments where I had to physically lean on something to take my rest break 😮‍💨 Did anyone else find that or was it just me?? 🫣

I’ve been there for sure!! And will be in another 1.5 weeks when I start working off of recovery from surgery. I’m worried but muscle memory is a powerful thing! We’ve got this!

Protein!
I am always looking for simple ways to get my protein goals in. What are your fav simple proteins aside from protein powder?

@Alanna Stewart-Bateman as long as you hit protein you can generally make up the difference between carbs and fats as long as you end up even in the end. But, I always go over fat on the weekends so I try to stay under on my fat goal ( btw 4-8 grams under each day) so then I bank them for the weekend and don’t worry as much about going over on the weekends - love my wine and charcuterie 😂

@Alanna Stewart-Bateman yes that’s generally what I do- but I’m for sure not an expert! I follow what my Strong AF coach guides me to do and that was our plan so I could be more free on weekends, events etc. I think it’s not exactly gram for gram carbs and fat but essentially- hit your protein and calorie goals and make the rest up between carbs and fats and you’ll be pretty close to what you want. So example if I know I’m going to a party over the weekend- I’m probably going to over on fat, then the 5 days before when I meal prep I’ll deliberately plan for 6grams under fat each day. Hit my calorie and protein goals, then whatever is left I know goes to Carbs
My own protein pancake receipe..kind of
I am obsessed 🥰 I have been following different protein pancake receipes but today before the lovely call with Emily I decided to follow my instincts and create my receipe/use my own measurements. My protein whey protein powder Vanilla 26g Blended oats 1/3 cup 1 egg Non fat protein yoghurt 100g Half banana 1tbsp baking powder vanilla extract Mix everything, don't add any liquids, I didn't add any types of oil. Take off the pan when the pancakes are not completely ready. Pour some defrosted raspberries (of course you can do whatever fruit you like);(there will be some liquid from the raspberries) and leave the pancakes for few min so they can soak up the liquid. For the sauce I melted chunky penut butter, nutella and coconut milk 🤤 I know the calories are high but so as the protein. I have 2 pankes and some sauce left and will eat them as a snack later 🥰
