Why would anybody know that they got a like on a comment? I believe it's a very unnecessary spam. People join communities, make a few comments and then have +20 unnecessary notifications. When you get a comment, of course, you should get a notification because you can reply to this comment, but you can't do anything about the like you got so it's just a distraction and you might miss the real important notifications because of that. Yes, we can turn it off, but probably way too many people don't even know about it, or don't wanna play with the settings every time they join some community. For our community, I teach our members to turn it off in our onboarding flow but this option should be turned off by default, and if somebody wants to get notified that they got a like, it's okay, they can turn it on, but I'm pretty sure 95% of the people would rather have it off. Wouldn't it improve the experience of Skool a lot?

Have your social media habits changed since joining Skool?
ā“Curious if you find yourself on IG, FB, TT, X, etc. less or more than you used to be or if it's about the same... I've only been here for about 3.5 months, but I'm finding I spend less and less time on other platforms as time goes on. I was already not very active on SM and had been looking/hoping for something else. I still check in occasionally on my family/friends, and I know I'll probably need to show up more as I grow my new business, but for now as I'm creating and building, Skool has what I need (to feel part of an authentic, engaged, & trustworthy group of likeminded/likehearted people with similar goals.)

@Allison Saunders Exactly, and lastly, social media aren't even social. Nobody even replies to DMs haha, and in a whole life of using "social" media, I made less connections than in 3 months of using Skool

@Allison Saunders right here you meet people interested in similar stuff
šŸ”” New Member Request Notification
Would be great to have the possibility to turn on push notifications for when: - Somebody requests to join our community - Somebody joins (when we have auto-accept turned on) We would be able to quickly accept and personally welcome new members. Probably not the best thing for the big communities, but it could be grat for the tiny/medium ones that get just a few members a day

@Dave Nawrocki You get a DM in Skool when somebody joins your community?

@Dave Nawrocki Wow, how does that work? You have some automation that you send a DM to yourself? I didn't see DM functionality on zapier

Free group or paid?
What are the pros and cons of starting a free group versus a paid group? Iā€™m worried that a free group might attract a lot of bots or inactive members who wonā€™t convert to paid. I know a free group can have some benefits, but Iā€™m unsure. Any advice or experiences?

Can you have a lot of traffic to your About page and you have a great offer? If you don't, you probably won't get any paid community members. It's much easier to build a free community if you don't have an audience, then inside provide so much value that these people will love you and they can become your clients.
