Motorbikes and Scooters Thread
I have watched extensive YouTube videos from Tigit Motorbikes and John states that Honda is best overall. Semi automatic is cheap to buy and cheap to fix and repair. The Honda Blade Is the best overall bike to tour all of Vietnam. It is the cheapest (about $1,000 USD) and most reliable bike. “you can wheelie it, jump it, and there’s no terrain the Blade can’t do.” John states that the Blade is, “Bulletproof and indestructible. It can carry two people and luggage across any mountain road in Vietnam. It is easy to fix, cheap to fix and fast to fix. Any shop in Vietnam can fix a Blade.” John toured the entire northwest area of Vietnam on a Honda Blade. It is a 110 cc, semi automatic, 8.5 hp, can cruise 60 mph, top speed 110 KPH (68 mph). Note: Mind the speed limits in Vietnam or you will pay the price.

If you plan on shopping for groceries make sure you get one with a good storage bin under the seat. I have a Honda lead with decent storage and it makes life much easier. Especially when your picking up gallons of water.

Da Nang is fun, it’s got a great walking path with food and drinks. Night time weekends are awesome, dance party’s everywhere and easy to meet people who speak English.
Buying an insulated Water Bottle.
This is is mostly for @Travis Carrasquillo. Where can I buy a good large insulated water bottle? I’ve tried Vincom plaza but it’s all US prices for something small. I don’t need something super high quality.

@Sarn Elliott you will definitely pay more through air bnb. It’s worth it for the month because you have host who help you out.

@Sarn Elliott definitely do it. You might need more than a few days though. I’m working with a realtor here who speaks good English if you need a recommendation.
Getting a bank Account in Vietnam.
Has anyone from the states gotten a Vietnamese bank account? I have been using my Chase card withdraw cash and the ATM fees are not something I want to pay for long-term. Let me know if anyone has signed up for a bank account or found a way around this.

@Jamila Surpris I’m going back to Sacombank today to see if I can get one. I know a guy and 4 other people who got it on a 3 month visa. From what TIMO bank told me, if you have your passport linked to your Vietnam phone number, you can get one here. Make sure you do that at the airport.
