Nov challenge day 12
Thankful Sarah did the following emotional labor - Got my son’s attention and said “hey watch this” and touched me on the back and said I love you. I don’t think he’s ever seen that and felt that emotional labor touching all of us - Comforted me when she could tell I was hurt about a nasty interaction with my dad. Also allowed me time to process before asking me to do anything else - Validated and listened to me vent about this guy who was just at our house and used me as an excuse for cheating on his wife. I was feeling hurt a lot today and gonna use that emotional labor comfort for 2 points - Complimented me for doing some tasks that are normally thankless and just my job to get done, but she knows that rewarding me with positive reinforcement makes me feel good

Nov. Challenge Day 10
I’m grateful Katie took on the emotional load of: - Scheduling pictures for today as a Christmas gift for her mom, knowing that physical gifts don’t mean nearly as much to her as photos of her kids and grandkids. - Making sure we got to stop with all three kids to see her grandparents who are significantly ailing in health. It is hard to see them struggling so much, but she prioritized kin keeping and their joy in seeing the kids over any discomfort. - Working with her sister who she frequently feels challenges communicating with to share process of choosing clothes, photographer, location. She knows that type of planning not only stresses me out, but she wanted to ensure it was a smooth, conflict-free photo experience for everyone. - Coaxing kids who did not want to be in the pictures to smile and participate.

We tried to do professional family pics a couple weeks ago and omg that photographer had the most patience I’d ever witnessed
Examples of best scores for November Challenge
Remember as much as the prize money will be nice the completion will improve the way you see the invisible labor of your partner and improve your understanding of the invisible labor you do -clearly identifying emotional labor vs cognitive -bulleting or numbering submissions -either talking about management of tone or underlying thought/emotional concern for doing something

Nov Challenge Day 2
I’m grateful for the emotional labor that Alyssa does -communicating when her patience was low today -communicating she was about to be hangry and to please stop asking questions -managing the tone of her voice as she offered this info -doing the not fun thing taking away a toy our 3 year old was throwing and hitting with and being with her while she cried and was deregulated.
