Remember as much as the prize money will be nice the completion will improve the way you see the invisible labor of your partner and improve your understanding of the invisible labor you do -clearly identifying emotional labor vs cognitive -bulleting or numbering submissions -either talking about management of tone or underlying thought/emotional concern for doing something

11/9 November challenge
I am grateful for my wife's emotional labor in how she... - Managed our daughter's emotional distress over potty issues while she was also trying to get some work done in the home office - Explained to me how my exasperated tone while I was trying to reduce her cognitive labor actually added to her emotional load and made her feel guilty for stepping away to get work done - Stayed with the children through lunch while she could have left to work in the office because she could sense that they were unsettled and needed her presence to feel grounded - Stayed with my daughter by the pool during swim lessons so that she felt more confident to participate

Nov. challenge - Day 9
Today, I'm grateful in Sarah's emotional labor in: -Explaining my pneumonia to Ella in a way that wouldn't overwhelm her or make her worried. -Adding my favorite beverage (root beer) to the grocery list this weekend because she knew that would cheer me up. -Holding off on doing Shabbat dinner last night while I was in urgent care because "it didn't feel right to do it without dad" (brb sobbing 😭) -Taking me at my word as I describe all of my symptoms and provide updates on how I'm doing, even when I'm not articulating it especially well.
