Chasing the hyper-trophy
As I see it, there are three variables we can play with: volume, frequency and intensity. Volume (how many sets per workout or week) Frequency (how often each muscle gets worked) Intensity (how hard) How would you all personally rank them? 🙂

Once a weekend I’ll take my daughter for a walk to the local coffee shop. It’s about a 12 min walk. She’ll sit and watch Paw Patrol on my phone while I go over my budget for the month in a note book, or gym schedule, or diet. It’s my most zen time of the week 😁 Then we walk to a play ground on the way home, then home. That’s my favorite cardio, because it’s with family.
Caffeine - How do you get your fix?
This topic came up on a group chat and I thought it would be a good topic to discuss here too. Rarely do I encounter anyone who is completely off any form or some sort of caffeine. Whether that be a sugar free Monster Energy, Red Bull, instant coffee or your morning coffee run. Or maybe you just get your hit from a preworkout? How do you enjoy/take your caffeine?

I’ll have coffee in the afternoons at work when I’m feeling like I need a boost, but it’s typically just a walk across the street to Starbucks, and I’ll order a single espresso, slam it back there the walk back to work. It’s for performance, not flavour. Other than that, I’ll sprinkle a tablespoon of ground coffee either in a pre workout shake or on my oatmeal*. As far as “having a coffee”, I rarely do. I prefer tea. 😁 Can’t remember the last time I had an energy drink. I think I had a Redbull in 2023. I only started costuming coffee last year (when I was 43). This is how I maintain a healthy relationship with caffeine. *2-3 protein scoops of quick oats 1-2 teaspoons peanut butter 1-2 kiwis or equivalent mixed fruit 1.5 scoops chocolate whey Optional cofeee grounds Optional hemp/flax/chia seeds Add water and microwave for 60sec.
Weirdly delicious food combinations
Starting a new thread 2 weird food combos that come to mind off the top of my head; 1. Chicken and rice with banana and peanut butter 2. Vegemite, avocado and egg on toast

Grated carrot mixed with grated apple. You need to eat it right away before the apple turns, but it’s juicy af!
Protein Powder Brand!
So what's you go to Brand and flavour protein powder? Mine is bulk nutrients and chocolate, goes real nice with oats!

I buy bulk from Canadian Protein. Meets my criteria. 1. Blends well and tastes good 2. Local 3. Price 4. Can buy in bulk.

I was bodybuilding in my 20s, powerlifting in my 30s, and now I’m trying to be a bodybuilder again in my 40s, and not an out-of-shape manager at work.
