Recovery Day
This pic is a pretty good representation of how things went inside the Marchman household today. After a LONG week, we all just hit a wall and had a lazy football and movie Saturday. I’m about to hit a late afternoon “push-pull-hinge” workout, but other than that, body just felt like it needed some r&r…Sometimes THAT is the best progress you can make. What did you get into today?

Today was kind of a playday for me so I just worked my way through some calisthenics and a light 10 mins of cleans, presses, offset rack squats. Just with a 16kg and just tried to really feel and flow through the movement going through full ranges of motion to open up the joints (the other joint is for later lol). Finished up with a 20 min walk around the neighborhood. Done ✔️
Non-Negotiables
Been one HELL of a day.... Kids were difficult to get out the door for school...Camera man had a family emergency (which prevented me being able to get to the Windmill tutorial)...wife didn't get off work til late...and to cap it all off, the kids all of a sudden decided they didn't like pot roast (something they usually LOVE)... It was just one of those days... BUT, in the midst of those giant shit storm days like this where it seems like the cosmos won't let you accomplish a single thing, you MUST show some grit and knock out at the VERY LEAST your daily non-neogtiables (the tasks you identify as the ones you WILL NOT go to bed without accomplishing). Devote yourself to doing this, and even on your shittiest days, you'll be investing that "1% increase" that is required to get you to where you wanna be... With that, I want you to do me and you a favor by letting me know YOUR non-negotiables in the discussion below... P.S. As much as I didn't feel like it, I ended the day on a positive. I dragged my sorry ass to the gym and FORCED myself to put in at least a quick 15 minute banger (check it out tomorrow on YouTube)...

Non-Negotiables

Starting and ending my day with a walk is my non negotiable. I have degenerative spondylolisthesis from breaking my back twice over the years. I've one knee rebuilt and bolted together that doesn't work properly anymore lol. Anyway walking has been absolutely crucial for me and kb's I shouldn't even be able to pick up. However once I stopped listening to my doctor, it turns kb training was exactly what my back need. So my non negotiable for kb's is highly dependent on the status of my back but I usually get 3 to 4 workouts per week.
Pain…
Normally I designate Fridays for a pep talk that centers around finishing the week strong, but today I had to share a rant I firmly believe needs to be discussed regarding “pain” during lifting. Pearson the language…I got a little passionate. Hands Up, KEEP FIGHTING✊🏼✊🏼✊🏼!!!!

It just needs to be said sometimes 🤣. Here's an abbreviated session today because of, well, pain 😆. If it hurts your shits of kilter or perhaps your body is also saying don't train here [insert painful area here] today. So you ttain areas that don't hurt instead. Anyway... Goblet squats 5x12 Heavy swings otm 5x10 Front rack Alternating reverse lunges 2x10 B-Stance deadlift 2x8 30min Elyptical zone 3 Done ✔️
Weekend (and Workout) Plans
Chime in with whatever you’ve got going on to be there for your WHY as well as for your training goals! As for me, I’m flying home two days early after a long hard week of hunting in North Dakota. Absolutely smoked from the miles I put in with boots on the ground but can’t WAIT to get back to wife and kids, as well as get back to being more responsive here…

Fruit: Yay or Nay?
Who knew something as healthy and delicious as fruit could be such a hot topic of debate? Personally I’m a big fruit guy. It satisfies my sweet tooth, gives me steady energy, and keeps me regular. I do, given the fact that it increases blood sugar, tend to eat more fruit earlier in the day as well as directly before, and after my workouts more so then later in the evening though. I’m curious what your opinion is though. Is fruit a yes or a no in your diet? Don’t forget your daily check-in!!!

My go to evening snack is Greek vanilla yogurt with cinnimon and mixed berry fruit. It's incredibly sweet all mixed together
