Motorbikes and Scooters Thread
I have watched extensive YouTube videos from Tigit Motorbikes and John states that Honda is best overall. Semi automatic is cheap to buy and cheap to fix and repair. The Honda Blade Is the best overall bike to tour all of Vietnam. It is the cheapest (about $1,000 USD) and most reliable bike. “you can wheelie it, jump it, and there’s no terrain the Blade can’t do.” John states that the Blade is, “Bulletproof and indestructible. It can carry two people and luggage across any mountain road in Vietnam. It is easy to fix, cheap to fix and fast to fix. Any shop in Vietnam can fix a Blade.” John toured the entire northwest area of Vietnam on a Honda Blade. It is a 110 cc, semi automatic, 8.5 hp, can cruise 60 mph, top speed 110 KPH (68 mph). Note: Mind the speed limits in Vietnam or you will pay the price.

@Steve Wiley if I’m not mistaken you are not allowed to ride up to the Lady Buddha unless you have a semi automatic. Maybe Travis can confirm this.

@Luke Lewis the storage racks you can buy are pretty effective aren’t they as long as you have good bungee cords and rain protection?
Road trip from Airport to Da Nang
Hi legend's, I'm planning on moving to Da Nang next year but myself and a mate want to fly in to somewhere else in Vietnam and road trip it for 2 or so weeks to Da Nang. Any recommendations where to fly into and routes etc would be appreciated! Cheers 🍻

Personally I would head North first and work your way down. All of Vietnam is beautiful but the North is definitely more scenic for road trips.
Feedback on the group
I've got a crazy long list of ideas and things I want to add to this community to make it the most useful group for valuable information and solving problems related to planning a trip in Vietnam. But I'd love to hear from YOU! What do you want to see more of, what information do you wish was available in the group? Any feedback, comments, criticisms are welcome! @Scott Bradshaw would love some in-depth info on this. I came across an excellent overview on YouTube yesterday about all the different options available. https://youtu.be/OzM5Md3zuqI?si=g0ofWzeyrCI86_Xl

Just in follow up to this it seems the Honda Blade 110cc semi automatic is the best choice for price, reliability, repair costs. I think that’s what I’ll be looking at. Used Blades are $500-600. New about $1k. Good for around the city and longer trips.
Saha Casa Hotel in Da Nang
This is definitely my favorite hotel that I've seen in person here in Da Nang. Its Brand New, only been open for a few months. All the rooms are uniquely designed, super green tropical vibe, everything is pristine, staff were great. This is my #1 pick for a hotel in the $50-70/night price range. I was really impressed. https://plannin.com/hotel/e5101ea2-6ec8-43a5-b134-ebd34794db48/?refId=TravisTravelsVietnam Video review will be posted on YT soon.

Do they offer a discounted monthly rate?
Stickers on fridges
I’ve noticed in every photo of Vietnam apartments that the fridge has a large, bright sticker on the door. Not sure what this is or what it’s for. Hopefully someone can enlighten me!
