This is the weekly check-in for families on our Year 4 and Year 5 Learning Journey programme with a reminder of important dates and events for the week. I hope your children joined Sunday's lesson. The recordings are in the Classroom in the Year 4/5 Learning Vaults. If you have sent us your child's details, work will have been set on your child's atom account. VERY IMPORTANT MESSAGE: 1️⃣Children must have their worksheets printed out and ready (or open on a tab in front of them) before the lesson every week. 2️⃣Children must have their own names on the screen and not the names of their parents in each lesson. The celebrated author of the Cadwaladr Quests and Chronicles series Sheena Ager is hosting a family vocabulary session on Wednesday, 27th November at 5:30 PM. Sheena will lead an interactive discussion on using words from books in everyday conversations, showing how vocabulary can become a natural part of life. This approach not only enhances communication but also makes mastering 11-plus vocabulary easier! There will be a special focus on contranyms. Before the session: A sample CHAPTER from Sheena’s book Tangled Time is available in the Learning Vault of your child's year group. Please read it in advance to prepare. A couple of parents have said they thought it was a subscription where they could set work themselves. Well folks, reading carefully will save you the trouble of this misunderstanding. And modelling this habit of reading carefully will mean your child will read the question carefully- a super important skill to develop for the 11 plus tests! Without mastering this skill, no matter how well prepared your child is, they won't be able to get the scores they need.
