It’s a great question and I understand your wanting to see her break through her fear. Can be frustrating when you there’s another outcome available for her. Here’s what I have learned after 25 years in working with clients and their fear in all kind of forms and contexts… Fears happen when you perceive more drawbacks than benefits in the situation, and believing there are no solutions. Neither is true. If you have vanilla ice cream and you keep pouring chocolate, at one point it will go from white to brown. All of sudden you have chocolate ice cream. Same happens when you turn your uncertainty to certainty. You keep stacking enough benefits and what if it “did go” the way I want it and you will turn it around. Stack enough benefits and you will solve it. Ask your client to ask herself, “what’s the benefit here? How specifically would this serve me? Hope this makes sense.
