@Dave Lisowski at first blush, I dont know what their offer is tbh. Seems purely like a "year end spend? We can help take that money off your books and push it into next year!" Type of play. And it goes right to scheduling a call. Likely for leads they already have worked for a while. I think I found it through their email newsletter or a pixel retargeting. Have you seen other ads for 200k pitches?

My Journey into Podcasting!
A couple of months ago, I took the plunge and started my very own podcast, "The Business Origin Story Podcast"! 🎙️ The idea stemmed from my networking efforts on LinkedIn, where I met numerous businesses that weren't quite ready to invest in video business cards or videos in general. I still loved chatting with these entrepreneurs and wanted to create valuable content while building trust. A podcast seemed like a perfect win-win solution! I've been using SquadCast.fm, similar to Riverside FM, integrated with Descript for editing, and it's been a fantastic experience doing it virtually. Eventually, I'd love to transition to a studio space, but for now, building hype virtually is the way to go. This approach has helped me forge strong relationships and tap into my guests' networks, never aiming to turn them into clients directly but to build genuine connections. So far, I've released seven episodes, with the eighth one already recorded and awaiting editing. I usually edit in Resolve, then use Descript for creating short clips. I provide the full episode and clips without my branding to my guests. Each episode is around 15 to 20 minutes, although some conversations run longer. All episodes are available on YouTube @arcturuscinema and Facebook. LinkedIn allows up to 10 minutes, so you can catch the first 10 minutes of episodes on my LinkedIn page. Hey, that's really cool that you had the courage to not only make it, but also put it out there. I'm taking a look at it now on your LinkedIn. It looks like you've had actually more traction on LinkedIn with people viewing it and interacting with it than even on YouTube. Have you been able to pick up any clients from this or have you seen any organic traffic come in since you've been publishing a number of episodes already now? What have been the biggest lessons you've learned or the biggest benefits you've seen.....

@Drew Mitchell That's a cool way to do it. Essentially turning your podcast into a paid podcast if you start getting people to hire you for cutdowns and you gain exposure / impressions as well! So smart man! Be sure to share some examples here when you get them
Automation for hiring
Hi all— In the past when I was looking to hire someone, I always ended up having prospects all over, you might have been there too. I spent some time working on it last week, and here's a simple way to solve it: 1. Create an online form on an app (Google Forms, Microsoft, Typeform) 2. Include questions for all needed information like contact details, email, portfolio, years of experience, specialization, etc) 3. Use an existing template for style (or create your own) 4. Set up to list the responses on a Google sheet or your desired database 5. Finally, share the form link in groups, communities 6. Now you have an organized list of prospects, it also works for future service hiring I'm using Make to automate these steps, additionally, a further step can be added to send an email to schedule a meeting with a candidate Let me know if you have any questions, hope this helps you 🙏

Some gold here for people starting out. A lot of people forget to build a list of freelancers to hire until they have the job. Don't sleep on this tip! Especially is you're starting out or trying to expand into a new area. Once you have your first fish on the line for a real project, reach out to communities in your desired area to try and fill that position with an experienced professional with professional gear. Don't say "who can do this for $500" because you won't get people's actual rates - you'll get a list of people who will do this ONE job because the date is open. You really want to know their regular - happy price. Have a form that people fill out with things like their day rate, their kit fee, what is included in the kit fee, and their service area, years of experience, portfolio, and demo reel if applicable, and 3 professional references. This one gig will then help you establish a form / google sheet of crew you can hire for future gigs and build their rates into your packages. Don't try to become wealthy and grow a business off the requirements of underpaying or people only working with you because they are slow. Build your business paying people industry standard day rates - or their happy price. This ensures you're a priority for freelancers to work with and not a "if I'm available, then I'll work with you" type of reputation.

I had another client call, and after talking to her, her needs were not as large as my packages offered, so I quoted her my hourly rate of $75 an our for 5 hours of my work, and she agreed no problem!! I knew her previously from the events I attend, so I told her that I'll help out extra if she needs it at no additional cost, as she's extremely un-tech savvy for what I offer. Super stoked about this!!
