Hi all, received a text from client after communicating that I'm super excited to work with them but I wanted to communicate via WhatsApp. Sent them onboarding form and they responded with the below: === Hi Aaron, I will get that filled out over the weekend. I don't have whatsapp and will not be getting it. Communication will be through email, followed by phone (call/text). I'll speak with you next Wednesday. Thanks === To me he seems already super cagey and I feel like he's trying to gain control and direct the interactions going forward. Am I reading too much into this or do I get the feeling that this client is going to be very difficult? Note, client only wants to communicate through phone call / email (no gmeets or zoom etc) and is adamant on not getting any video software etc. Everything is purely through phone call as stated by client. How do I deal with clients like this and set expectations straight from the start? Last thing I want is a client walking all over me.
