Hey everyone! Pleased to be a member of this growing community and excited to get to know you all. I'm Brittany-Marie (but I go by Bree/Bri) - originally from Jamaica but living in the States for 12yrs since arriving for college. I started out with an interest in International Relations, and over a decade+, that has evolved into Behavioral Psychology, Dance, Social Work, Childcare, HR, Finance, Sales, Public Relations, Government and more. I now brand myself a 'multipotentialite', and my CV (unless condensed) gets to about 10 pages, despite being 30. I've often felt insecure about this, being made to feel as though I'm inconsistent and undecided. However, I've never felt out of place or off-track. If anything, I've felt like I'm growing. The insight I bring to every table strengthens my teams, community and my own self-confidence. I've come to learn that people tend to project insecurities upon you, especially if you're younger, 'smaller' or even more quiet. Some folks instinctively seek to "mentor" instead of learn or collaborate. To be younger means being more adept in an ever-changing world. If, like me, you were born after 1993, your brain is shaped *for* this rapidly shifting environment. What may be labelled weakness is often a greatest strength. Fill your life with meaningful experiences and insight. There is no such thing as being "lost" in the world, just learning the forest. That's where I am in my journey, and I'm loving it. Can't wait to learn more about yours :)
