Went on a hike yesterday with my kids and girlfriend to Starved Rock. It was about a 7mile hike all around, and I was skeptical about my 5 year old giving up and carrying him. I had my daughter strapped up to me but I was ready to hop my son on my shoulders if he gave up. In my head I was thinking of his failure, but he proved me wrong and did it all on his own. Pushing himself mentally to overcome the obstacle of walking, he did it on his own. Yet I was doubting him, if you see failure and condone it, failure will happen.... My son beat his mind and did it and for that I am extremely proud.
