New Member Intro

Hey everyone my name is Sam Lovely, I'm a songwriter from Portland Oregon. I've played guitar since I was 5 ever since my Grandpa (Ed Hamilton formerly signed to capitol records) would jam with me and taught me everything I needed to know to get creative by myself. I also play bass, keys, percussion, or whatever else a song needs! But when setting my ego aside, I'm a guy with all his shit in his bedroom studio at his Mom's crib who wants to man up as a songwriter and take the steps needed to call himself an artist. After busking on sidewalks since I was 9, playing in bands, and performing in talent shows growing up just for fun, I started actively CHASING music independently since 2018. So far I feel like I've gone through 15,000 hours of acquiring different relevant skills, but nothing has tied together. Whether it's understanding music production, songwriting, running paid ads, growing a TikTok, video editing, I've learned quite a bit of all that but it hasn't felt like what I know is being applied in my life. That's why I'm so thankful to be here in this group right now because the great intro convinced me that everything I've learned so far is finally going to work together for me.
