Mentor or Tormentor? | Authentic Leader or Horrible Boss?
Motivating and leading your team as a leader and trying to bring out the best in them can be really hard to do.
But if you have the right skills, frameworks, know how to manage team dynamics and do it with the intention of serving your team it is also a very fulfilling experience for leaders and every team member.
This is what I have been teaching next gen emerging leaders for over 15 years now. I've been a student of leadership and I've been learning from some of the best leaders in the world.
But my journey as a leader started because I kept encountering bad leaders and horrible bosses on my career path.
That journey of my career has been very painful in so many ways. All those horrible bosses taught me what not to do as a leader.
They were not MENTORS. More like TORMENTORS.
men·tor
/ˈmenˌtôr,ˈmen(t)ər/
noun
  • an experienced and trusted adviser.
tor·men·tor
/tôrˈmen(t)ər/
noun
  • a person who inflicts severe mental or physical suffering on someone.
Now I've been working on converting the pain from the bad experiences with horrible leaders to become a purposeful experience of giving back to the next generation of leaders.
In a way I've become the leader I needed when I was younger.
I am truly passionate about helping the next generation of leaders to unshackle themselves from any limiting beliefs and biases.
To help them to find their true authentic voice. So that they can serve the people they lead with authenticity and courage.
The ripple effect of that impact is tremendous. The thought of that impact is what makes me jump out of bed every morning.
If you are on your journey of finding your authentic voice and courageous leader within.
I would love to share more about our vision and values around this just because of driving authentic leadership forward and helping next gen leaders create thriving workplace cultures that people love working at.
DM me if you would like to be mentored in becoming an authentic and courageous leader that people love working for.
Share what are you working on to find your authentic voice and courageous leader within?
