Make $$$ (and turn free to paid) with Calendar
Yesterday I tried out using the Calendar as a promotion for 50% off membership and already had a few extra members go from free to paid. Still going for one more day. Even my wife commented "Why haven't you done that before?" because it looked inviting, showing up in her feed on her phone app. I also use the Calendar to promote up and coming releases of new programs or other offers to build hype. That big red LIVE box is a very handy feature.

Another handy tip is you can continually edit the event day and time, without needing to create a new 'event', if you wish to have the link perpetually showing. Though I personally recommend giving your members a break from the constant RED BOX so not to wear out the welcome, so to speak.

@Lisa Leah thanks Lisa.
Show us your skool meme (win $10k)
Share your best skool meme. The community will vote and the winner will get $10k cash. Share your meme in the comments below. Entries close Nov 21 @ 1:11pm Pacific. *Edit: GIFs aren't memes. They will be deleted so only memes remain. We'll select the best memes from the comments and let people vote properly. Otherwise the first comments obviously have an unfair advantage. Don't worry, the best meme will win.

Can members cancel $ subscription and stay in group?
Can a member cancel their subscription but be allowed to stay as a member? I am changing from paid to free and want my paid members (who upgrade to pay-wall classrooms, via an external subscription payment provider) to be able to stay in the 'free' group. It seems that if I cancel a members subscription they will automatically be removed from the group at the end of their subscription; and I can't see an option for them to be allowed to stay. Thanks!

@Andrew Brame as I expected. Bit of a bummer. Thanks Andrew.

@Jenna Ostrye Great suggestion, Jenna. Thank you.
Skool almost lost me!
Hi, Dee here…new Skooler (and true skooler) just trying to live my best neurodivergent life and empower other women to do the same. To learn more about Skool, I did what most folks do, went to the University of YouTube! The first 5 or 6 (maybe more) videos were people comparing other community-building tools to Skool, and of course…saying don’t use Skool. I even checked out a few, and the comments echoed the same. Most of these videos were 4–7 months old (some even older), and while they had valid points, they also seemed to come from a place of frustration about switching to skool only to find out it had limitations they didn't expect. Then, I found ONE recent video with someone saying, ‘Skool has improved a lot, check it out.’ That comment was in the last few weeks. If I were brand-new to this kind of community-building journey, I might have walked away...continuing the platform shuffle. But, having tried a few different platforms before landing at skool, I knew every platform has a learning curve. I'm glad to see that Sam and his team made some major improvements and upgrades to meet the needs (he created what HE needed, and being a user of your own product matters). I share all this because I’ve noticed (in myself and my clients) that sometimes the urge to ‘platform shuffle’ isn’t about the platform itself, it’s about the fear and overwhelm that creep in right before a breakthrough. When it gets tough, pause and ask yourself: • Is this platform really the issue, or am I feeling resistance because I’m close to something big? • What do I really need from a community tool to make it work for me? • How will switching platforms affect my momentum and focus on what I’m trying to build? Sometimes, the best growth happens when we work through the discomfort. Stick with it, be open to learning, and remember that progress is better than perfection. If you’re here, you’re on the right path. That's it...that's all. 🤘🏽

Great points, Dee. The subconscious resistance to becoming better often expresses as this type of self-sabotage; blaming the tools and/or perfectionism. If we stick with it and work through the resistance we often find the very breakthrough we were looking for outside ourselves, come from within.

@Develda Edgington Yes. As with many things our subconscious can be our master or our servant.
New Feature: Delete With Reason
For users, it's frustrating to get your post deleted and not know why. For admins, it's frustrating to have to constantly explain why you're deleting someone's post. So Skool now has "Delete With Reason"! When you delete someone's post or comment you can now select which rule they broke and even give some additional feedback. If you select a reason or give feedback, the user will be emailed (see below). If you don't select a reason or give feedback, the user will not be emailed. Hope this helps.
