Thanksgiving on a “Diet”
l often get asked how to stay on a sound diet during the holidays. And every time I'm asked about it people seem to be disappointed yet a little relieved by my response. I tell them to enjoy themselves guilt free the way they did BEFORE adulthood burdened them with the stress of being on a diet! Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter, New Years, your birthday…these are all days that at one point in life you enjoyed in a carefree manner. And I'm willing to bet a lot of the nostalgia from those days in the past was attached the taste, site, and smell of foods that were commonly served. So why punish yourself by depriving yourself of something as joyous as that?! Doing so doesn’t make you hardcore. It makes you a masochist!!! My take, enjoy a platter of your favorite foods guilt free, but acknowledge the need to get right back in the wagon the next day. Trust me...one day will NOT destroy your progress. It's consistently eating like shit that does. So enjoy tomorrow with your family without a single thought of guilt, and get right back to work on Friday! Love you and am thankful for all you guys and the purpose you give me!!! Hands up...KEEP FIGHTING!!!

Rolling With the Punch’s
If y’all think for a second my life is a gravy train on biscuit wheels plowing through a yellow brick road, you’re dead wrong! Just as it is for probably every single one of you, there are obstacles in the road and around every turn. Remember, no matter how well thought out a plan is, life has a way of taking a massive swing at it. It’s how you bob, weave, and counterpunch that matters. Don’t let setbacks or deviations from your plan get you down or keep you down. KEEP MOVING FORWARD!!! Big week full of opportunities for us to get better. Who’s ready to own it?!?! Hands Up…KEEP FIGHTING!!!

Learning the difference between what you can control and what you can't helps me to focus my energy on what I can truly accomplish today.
Curious What YOU Think
Before I film a YouTube video that will UNDOUBTEDLY get me a lot of hate, I wanna know your opinion on the matter. What’s more important for your overall health? DIET or EXERCISE? Let me know your opinion and why… Hands Up…KEEP FIGHTING!!!

Both are important. When you're young exercise seems more important due to a faster metabolism and faster recovery. This is why learning proper technique is crucial if one wants to make strength and muscle a lifelong endeavor. Diet begins having a priority as you age and accumulate injuries. Food is both medicine and health! When the motor is strong, the rest of the machine goes along.

@Mark Rosauer I feel your pain, sir. I have arthritis in both knees, injured rotator cuff and some deteriorating spinal discs at 57 years old. I still train. I try to to alternative exercises, methods, nutrition and lots of sleep to recover for the next session. Losing weight is very helpful.
Solid Wife Tip…
This post has absolutely NOTHING to do with fitness or diet, and EVERYTHING to do with how to make your life exponentially better. If your wife, girlfriend, significant other, child, or any loved one has had a shit day…stop what you’re doing and make them a meal that you KNOW will satisfy them. Seems like a trivial task, but in my experience not only does it take one more thing off their plate that they may not have the physical or even emotional energy to handle, but more importantly it shows you’re willing and eager to put THEM and THEIR interests ahead of your own. Some may think this could misalign with your goals in the gym, if it meant cutting your workout short (or even out), but I’m telling you right now, it is a display of love that earns you HUGE points in the future. Which in my mind is a far better long term investment for your cumulative happiness and wellbeing than the successful execution of just one workout. I’m not a big nachos guy, but trust me, this will be the best decision I make for my wellbeing all week!!! What little things do YOU DO to show up for your WHY? Let me know below! And don’t forget to chime in with your daily check in… Hands up, KEEP FIGHTING!!!

Hello bros, When my wife comes in after having a scrappy day at work, I tell her to forget cooking. I will order her favorite food. Just shower relax and tell me her day. We'll watch a movie or series together. I'll massage her feet or back. I give her her space if she's too cranky. This definitely helps her feel appreciated and loved. Later on, she would get "nicey nicey" with me ;-) !
