Feedback and Suggestions for My Portfolio Website!
Hello everyone! I’ve recently updated my portfolio at webdevakash.com, built with Next.js, Tailwind CSS, and Framer Motion. I’d love to get your feedback on the design, usability, and overall content. Also, I’m looking to add more features and sections. What do you think could enhance the site further? Any suggestions or critiques are welcome. Thank you!

What do you think about inverting the Next.js logo?
Just made this one, code review welcome
Just made this, because I needed this feature and though the solutions that existed were a bit heavier than I was looking for; https://www.npmjs.com/package/react-router-use-uri-hash, happy to have any code reviews/feedback if anyone has 5 minutes.

Hi Rushita, there are different ways to do this, but one of them is to run an EC2 instance - I think this video might help you : https://youtu.be/nQdyiK7-VlQ?si=FW7NJlbuljAdvHFD

@Rushita Devi Hi, when you get time to do this, would you mind sharing how you found doing the AWS deployment? Was there anything missing from the video? do you have a link to the finished site?
GraphQL Apollo
Hello everyone! What are your favorite resources for learning/mastering GraphQL with Node js? I'm having a hard time finding up-to-date resources, most are pretty outdated. Thank you!

I used https://www.howtographql.com/, which I quite liked, and is free. I found it from https://graphql.org/learn/ which also links a few other things.

@Bogdan Nedelcu - this is interesting, it makes me think "is there an example of a really good rest API?" in Node/Express, not something complicated, just a CRUD for todo's or something like that but with all the things you mention (including documentation, tests, etc) that we could use as a guideline for best practices?
Need advice.
I am a computer programming student in college and I have been learning coding since 2020 and a month ago I called a web designing company and told them I would like to work for free and asked them if they want my resume or my linkdin/github link and I told them that i started learning coding in 2020 and that I am passionate in it and they said they will contact if they need and they just didnt even cared to see resume or my social media profile and they didnt called back. And now I am in bus going to ask other web development company to ask the same. Should I continue to ask other companies to ask if I can work free for.them.What would you do if you were in my situation and what you do if you were the HR/manager of the company?I would love to hear what you think?

Hi Alfred, in my opinion you would struggle to get any work for free experience, there is still enough money in tech that people can get paid so offering to work for free is not always a good deal, it also shows that you have low value... it's very different to an internship (which is paid and sounds like it would be great for you). The main thing is that it's actually quite difficult to set up a new employee or co-worker, you need permission to work on all the code/hosting/etc, and you need to configure your laptop to match everyone else on the project... it takes a day or two at least with help from the team... then you need to spend a week or 2 (or 6) getting lots of help and advice so you are doing things the right way for that company/team... then you will start adding value to the project. With that kind of effort, no one wants to set up someone who seems like low value or may leave quickly (for any other paying job). I would suggest instead of asking for unpaid work, ask for work experience, or internships. Build a portfolio of what you can do/what you have done and then move on up in your career. Lastly, I recently came across https://www.frontendmentor.io/ which might also be helpful to you as they claim to help people connect with employers. Good luck 👍
