Seamless Onboarding for New Members
I finally figured it out... I think. I've had a free Skool group for a couple of months, but I let it die down because after the first 2-3 days the activity dropped completely. I'm currently in promo for a challenge and figured I'd use Skool to house everyone who registers. Before the actual event I want people to watch certain videos, add events to calendars etc. I used to think some 8 minute boring video would do the trick. Then I joined Frank Kerns FREE group and saw what I thought was hilariously simple... almost dumb way of onboarding new members. I tried it... and it worked ๐Ÿ˜‚ Simple text, step by step instructions, no long boring videos. My engagement inside still needs work, but the members are a lot more active and doing the things I'd like them to do. I could probably drop 2-3 of the sections, but so far it's being consumed at a great rate. Here's how simple the set up is...

SELLING IN SKOOL
I wanted to make my sales process a lot smoother I have a solid Free Skool group, and I didn't want to send them off Skool to buy. So when Skool launched the buy courses feature I was stoked. I decided to use it for my upcoming challenge. People join the challenge then are up sold into VIP. The conversion on that is low. I don't want to keep pushing them back to a page that didn't convert them the first time, although not a bad idea, but inefficient. So last week I posted about having a super simple onboarding process in the classroom. I added in an upsell in that process and now the process is so simple! People read through the first few tasks, then read through the "sales page" for my VIP experience, then can buy right in Skool. I have all my LT courses in there to. So it's passive sales on stuff I've already created, with no fancy tech or headaches!

@Chuck Ellis You finding that to be effective personally?
The "Email DM" Method
@Ted Carr was at a thing in Vegas. I was also at the thing. We were talking about Skool and he mentioned that a lot of Skool folks don't use email that much. I was like "no way" and he was like "yes way" ...so I came to this community, did a search for email marketing, and it turns out he might be right. Which is AMAZING. Anyway - one of the questions somebody asked was "Anybody ever use email marketing to get Skool members?" ... So I figured I'd show you a cool way to do that. Get people in your groups ...with email. The "Email DM" concept was originally created by a great guy named Dean Jackson, by the way. To give credit where credit is due. Hope this helps you.

Rules for this community
I'm not happy with the recent trends in this community. This is a place for genuine conversations and connections with other community owners. This is not a place for you to build your "thought leader" reputation with "4 things I learned in Bali about leadership" type posts and hollow comments. Here's the rules: 1. Don't be annoying 2. No self promotion 3. Don't use chatGPT 4. This isn't LinkedIn: Don't be a "thought leader" (see meme) 5. No engagement farming: Empty content to boost posts and get likes 6. Be positive 7. Make an effort If you see any posts/comments that break these rules - report them. If you're not sure, report them anyway. We're tightening up moderation.

Deep links
Hey legends, as Skool is becoming more popular a lot of people have the mobile app version. Iโ€™ve been sending links on mobile, often people have to login again, and then to join enter their details. Small hassle but can be avoiding with a deep link software like urlgeni. It seems like an easy fix. Is there a roadmap for this or is there a work around that I havenโ€™t seen.

@Sam Ovens ah gotcha, yes that makes it even worse. Because no one is logged in on the socials browser version. Unless they manually open it in chrome etc. Started promoting free Skool group today had 5 or so people out of 100 complain about it a little. So was seeing if thereโ€™s anything I can do to fix it. The URLGeni process is solid. But not sure if it requires someone from Skool to start it up. Appreciate the response ๐Ÿ™Œ

@Dan Harrison Nope, I've been clicking on peoples ads for Skool and wondering how they convert because logging in every time is a huge pain
