This post stemmed from a conversation that @Chandler Joyner started, wanting some insights into small business and getting started. He is looking at getting into physical therapy, and he works in sales at Daniel Defense right now. A good book to look at for anyone moving from working corporate to starting a business is The E-myth revisited by Michael Gerber. I'll sum up some ideas and points right here for you. The E myth is the idea that small businesses are started by true-blue entrepreneurs. The truth is, most business are started by people who were initially working for others (e.g. carpenters, designers). They are good at what they do, decide to go into business, and make the fatal assumption that their credentials or specialized skills will allow them to be successful. Business isn't just your technical skills or your product. It's branding and marketing, and administrative management as well. Someone usually starts a business with a strong product or service and abilities there, but they fail in the branding and marketing side or admin side. There is another angle I see a lot in the digital world, and especially people in the space that I am (men's help and dating/relationships). They have a weak product, and they think that their digital marketing and branding skills will allow them to bank money. That bubble has already burst with a market of crappy products for "mens help" now circulating online. Reality is you have to develop (and later hire) skills in all 3 areas: Entrepreneurship Management Technician Entrepreneurship "drives" the business. It focuses on how to market and brand, and how to look towards the future. It focuses on how to scale, which is the survival of any business growth. Management is the administrative side, and is essential to scaling. This is systems focused. This focuses on the structure, fulfillment, and all the inner workings of the business. This is an area that many people with strong technical or entrepreneurial skills often fail, but if you fail here you can't scale or grow the business, and clients won't be happy.

Reply @Riquet Caballero - here's a bit of quick brain dump of how i got started and run things - feel free to hit back with any questions. Perhaps some will apply to the type of business you want to start. A massive value of mine is freedom and the primary focus of my shift into my remote based business was creating freedom, simplicity, and balance. Your goals may differ which would weigh into your direction a bit. I kept the structure as simple as a could. LLC with an errors and omissions, liability, type policy covering my business segment. I grabbed Google voice number as my business line and didn’t even bother with a website until several years in when a vendor required one. No employees, no “products” that require me to handle sales tax. I started with an accountant right from the get go - they handle my taxes and my books are easy enough I just track and categorize things - they work out the rest. I did shift to an S Corp election when my income grew to a point it started saving me money on taxes. I’ve never been one to use an outside marketing service, nor do much marketing beyond my own work outcomes to grow. In the beginning, all of my work came from freelance / contractor web sources similar to and including upwork.com. I’ve found a lot of success with a simple formula for gaining traction and hitting the top profiles on these sorts of sites which boils down to: - Build a good profile outlining your experience - if you type of work allows for “proof” add that in some fashion - Chase your first 5 reviews. I didn’t care what I did near my field of work and didn’t worry about losing money. I grabbed the first 5 clients I could with a flat rate / short term project and nailed those reviews. - Once done, a searched for and applied for work that fit the lifestyle I wanted and captured my interest. Each contract or project was treated as a bit of an interview to qualify whether I’d like to work with the client initially or again.

Yeah, I despise old school sales and marketing and I haven't truly attempted online marketing. I'd venture it depends a bit on personality. I know business owners who are born sales people but putting things into action was their weakness. You have a good point though. It also all depends on what kind of lifestyle and business you are chasing. I do zero marketing and occasionally have to write a statement of work and estimate some hours which has only gotten easier with chatgpt to take care of the framework of each.

Women crying during orgasm or right after, WTF?

So I have a plate/ltr its been about 6 months and the sex has been pretty fucking good. She always orgasms several times and even goes into some a deep out of body type of psychedelic experience. Recently she has cried twice and I read about it and there are some negatives and in my case because the relationship is relatively healthy and there isn't any toxicity, I believe it's a very fast high/low mood change after an intense orgasm that causes this. @Paul Benjamin I wanted to get your expert take on the subject and learn more about this. and of course if anyone would like to share their experience with this. I bet Laurent probably has some interesting story like this in his back pocket. O.k To be clear this is not bawling, snot bubble crying, it's like tears of joy or something.

My ex cried once or twice during sex early on typically when it was particularly good. Of course a few times over 20 years when she cried because of negative feelings. It usually pretty obvious to me when she wasn’t sharing something negative and when it was hormones + good feeling + emotions overwhelming her to the positive. I don’t have much experience outside of that marriage but I think of how women cry during happy scenes in movies - crying isn’t always bad for them.
