Health Assets!
What are they? Hey Fam! This month we introduced monthly Assets and Practices and on Mondays call I mentioned your homework was to get 1-4 written down so you have your asset focus for the month and It's time to share them. Keen to hear what you're focusing on this month. And if you are not in this months BSFT30 but want in, message below and I will catch you up to speed and make sure you get the playbook! โœŒ๏ธ๐Ÿ•

A theme of โ€˜explorationโ€™ played a big part when thinking of what assets I would like to build, and applies to multiple parts of my life at the moment. Move and mind have always been more important categories for me to work on. In September I returned to aerial, and started training a new discipline (silks), which has been super challenging - Iโ€™ve found that exploring what my body is capable of and finding new interesting ways to move it has brought so much joy into my life recently. Strength training is cool and all but it doesnโ€™t excite me as much as when Iโ€™m at Bend on a Tuesday, aerial, or all the interesting things Iโ€™m currently getting taught and working on with personal training on a Wednesday. I am really focusing on these this month and what I can learn and push myself to do, seeing great progress and learning new skills. The practice is to attend those sessions every week, writing everything down has been helpful with remembering moves and sequences, and spend hours on end practicing in my garden haha. This is 3x 1 hour sessions per week time commitment (and a few more for garden practice times!) With mind, I was really good at setting time aside for journalling but then dropped off in mid October. So this is something that I have been making more of a conscious effort to do each day. Again, with exploration in mind, something I have always wanted to try since starting BSFT is hot/cold exposure, I did my first ice bath and sauna at the gym with Inky on Wednesday evening and it was a lovely experience. This is something I would like to introduce and establish into my weekly routine. 10-15 mins time commitment for writing each day, and half an hour to an hour once a week for a sauna/ice bath session. I am not focusing so much on mouth - but I do want to make sure that I increase my water intake, sometimes itโ€™s difficult when Iโ€™m spending hours at work in the lab as you canโ€™t have food or drink with you. So making sure that I take regular breaks from lab work to have a few sips is good. I will set timers if I am particularly busy so that I can be like ok itโ€™s time to stop and have a drink. Sometimes Iโ€™ll be at the gym in the evening and realise I am so dehydrated and I struggle with the workout. So thatโ€™s a little thing I want to improve!
