Texas Woodworking Festival
Is anyone planning on attending the Texas Woodworking Festival in Austin tomorrow (11/9/24)? If so, let's try to meet up. I'll be there.

To far for me but man alive I'd love to.
Stop clogged glue nozzles with a simple swap
Have you ever had a problem with the nozzle on your glue bottle getting clogged after several uses? You push the sleeve down and wipe the tip yet the next time you need some glue the nozzle is clogged up and you spend more time than necessary making it work. Doesn't matter the brand, they all use the same style nozzle. Sound familiar, well there's a simple fix. Just swap out the cap that come on the glue bottle. Those squeeze bottles of mustard have a flip top cap that fits the top of a glue bottle and doesn't get clogged. The only caution to making this work, is to make sure you hear the "click" when closing the cap so you know you've got it closed tightly

What's Everyone Working On?
I'd love to see more of you posting your projects. We want to see what you're working on; share in your triumphs and tragedies. Preferably more of the former and less of the later.

I'm want to use this bed frame to make a bench for the back deck. This bed frame is Antique. And I think it will be a great addition. It will be in the weather, any suggestions on a sealer I should use.

Today has been a trying day for me. I've known tha back door needed attention for a while now but I've been hesitant to work on it. This house was built in 1942 and upgraded with plumbing, inside bathroom, bigger kitchen, ext. The back door was sagging and the screws for the hinges where not holding anymore. I did try bigger and longer screws to no avail. With old houses you just never know what you'll find. I rebuilt the frame and refung the door. About that heavy wooden door, I'm going to have to completely redo parts of the door. There is rot at the bottom on the right side and where the fixture gose, it has to be cut out and replaced.

Antique Tools
Every once in a while, someone asks me about the tools hanging on the wall behind me. Those are antique tools that I've collected over the years. I'm not a serious antique tool collector, as I have too many other things to spend my money on; but I like them. More than anything, I'm interested in how they used to do things. Technology has changed woodworking; just like it has changed many other things. Does anyone else out there collect antique tools or have an interest in antique tools?

I have a few. I find myself using the old hand drills and plains more than any other. For me it's the time spent shaping the wood, I gess it's the satisfaction of knowing I made that without power tools.

My biggest thrill is taking old wood and making into something beautiful.
