Have You Ever Worked with Bamboo?
We're seeing more and more things showing up in the stores, which are made of bamboo. There are even those who have suggested it as an alternative for wood in woodworking. While I don't think that bamboo will ever have the beauty of wood, I got curious about how it is to work with. So, I bought some and tested it. Check out this video, where I try out the bamboo, to see how it would be to work with. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N6Ga_OukgDA

Have You Ever Worked with Bamboo?
Hello
My name is Gerry and live in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada. I am recently retired and am looking to get back into woodworking. I had done some projects for our house years ago (barristers bookcase, corner cabinet, tabletop dressing mirror). My skills came from a continuing education program at a nearby college. For a number of reasons, I am now moving into smaller project - (hobby, childens toys, boxes), using miniature tools from Proxxon and others. Looking forward to improving my knowledge and widening my skills into other areas. Gerry

Turning on the lathe
Decided I need to learn my way around lathe work. This piece is not sophisticated, but it's the first bowl I've turned in nearly 40 years.
