Thank you to the Skool team 💛
I was "peeking through the window" of this community when it first opened years ago, but only became a true member last December. I've always loved Sam and decided to jump in once Skool payments were introduced. By the new year I was an active member in here and LOVED it! After years of being on FB, Linkedin etc it really was a breath of fresh air. The high-level conversations The inspiration The genuine support True authentic friendships were formed (not just strategic ones) and dozens of us speak regularly inside our "mini" Skool communities and support each other daily in biz and life. But lately, this space had lost its charm. It started to feel like social media (and not in the good way). People appeared to only be here to leverage our special home for personal gain and many of us who loved this space stared to come in here less and less. For context I was the #1 on the all time leaderboard before and am now not even on the 30 day or 7 day leaderboard, as I was not going to join in the nonsense just to maintain my position.... Instead I've been looking after my Skool community members and having fun hanging out in my fav groups. It became noisier and noisier and louder and louder with non-stop random and sometimes ridiculous posts that had nothing whatsoever to do with Skool. But the Skool team noticed and have today put in some new guidelines to help get things back to GREAT (as they were for YEARS previously). A place for us to discuss Skool related things, have real conversations and make genuine friendships. and for me personally this feels like a safe space again. Thank you Sam, and all of the Skool team for caring about us and allowing us to have access to this community and all the amazing humans in here. and thank you to every genuine person who I have met here who has become a special part of my Skool life. I truly do love Skool, both for the platform, but also for the people. and I don't even needs any likes/points for this post.

Yes... All of this. For me, its the authenticity of the people that shines through in this community, and any community that I'm in that I enjoy. Its what makes it better than FB or LinkedIn...
Rules for this community
I'm not happy with the recent trends in this community. This is a place for genuine conversations and connections with other community owners. This is not a place for you to build your "thought leader" reputation with "4 things I learned in Bali about leadership" type posts and hollow comments. Here's the rules: 1. Don't be annoying 2. No self promotion 3. Don't use chatGPT 4. This isn't LinkedIn: Don't be a "thought leader" (see meme) 5. No engagement farming: Empty content to boost posts and get likes 6. Be positive 7. Make an effort If you see any posts/comments that break these rules - report them. If you're not sure, report them anyway. We're tightening up moderation.

Fuck yes dude... I'm right there with you... All that stuff makes it less enjoyable. No one likes to shift through that garbage...
2 Paths To Grow Your Free Skool With Ads
I want to break down the two main paths you can take to grow your FREE skool community using Facebook ads. I've seen many of you struggling with this, so let's clear things up! Path 1: Sales Campaign with (Optional Landing Page because you can also send people directly to the about page) Here's how it works: 1. Set up a sales campaign in Facebook Ads Manager 2. Choose "Complete Registration" as your optimization event 3. Make sure your landing page has the skool tracking pixel installed 4. Include the "Page View" event pixel on your funnel page The flow here is: Ad → Your Landing Page → About Page → Community Registration Or the shorter path: Ad → About Page → Community Registration Path 2: Lead Generation Campaign This is my personal favorite for growing your email list and community simultaneously: 1. Create a lead generation campaign in Ads Manager 2. Use Facebook's native lead forms (those instant forms that pop up) 3. Collect emails directly on Facebook 4. Use the thank you page to direct people to your community The flow looks like this: Ad → Facebook Lead Form → Thank You Page → Community Registration I love this approach because it typically gives you cheaper leads and prioritizes your email list growth. Plus, you can invite people to join your community right away on the thank you screen. Thanks @Evelyn Weiss! I've been running ads directly to the about page, and collecting emails when people sign up for the community. I should test the instant form too though and see which works better!

@Evelyn Weiss I will🙌🏽
Did you know you can click people’s names and see their profiles?
I have a feeling a lot of new people don’t take the time to familiarize themselves with the practice of looking at other people’s profiles. Literally just click someones name and look at their profile before commenting or replying to them. That would prevent a lot of the confusing comment threads that go in an endless loop I think
