Naming Layers in Morpholio Trace: Itโ€™s Finally Here!
I just found out you can expand the layer palette with this little arrow, so itโ€™s super easy to rename and organize your layers nowโ€”something Iโ€™ve been wanting forever. I also heard thereโ€™s a big update coming later this year thatโ€™ll let you group layers into folders (like in Procreate), among other things, like a big revamp to adding text. Ask @Joey Swerdlin (director at Morpholio) if you are curious.

How to space plan a room with Morpholio Trace?
This week, I created a brief tutorial to help @Emma Hurlston Tseng on space planning using two PDFs at different scales. It shows how to integrate a 1:40 furniture PDF into a 1:50 room plan. This workflow can be applied to various scenarios once you grasp the basic concept. #How to space plan a room with furniture template?

Super helpful, Henry. Thanks!
Another project to share
Iโ€™m still searching for my particular style and I find emulating otherโ€™s work to be helpful. This project is for a new space off the back of an existing house. I used Sketchup to make a fairly robust model of the proposal and integrated it into the existing with photomatch. Iโ€™ve always found interior rendering from 3D models to be time consuming. This iPad methodology really is a game changer. These were early iterations that were meant to capture the overall concept without getting mired in the details.

@Mike DeBonis Kind of makes me want to use less layers .... counterproductive.

I have been naming my layers. I just can't remember which layer is which, so I hunt and peck a lot. It would be really nice if the layer names could be seen while sketching somehow.
iPad Surface Questions
I believe Henry mentioned a film to put on the iPad screen to add a little bit of texture or grit. My iPencil is kind of sloppy and slippery on the glass screen. Any thoughts or insight? Also, as a throwback to my older days, when I put my hand on the screen to draw I feel like I'm going to be adding inadvertent marks other than from iPencil. Any thoughts or insight here as well? Thanks in advance...

@Henry Gao Hi Henry. Thanks for the tip, I had not heard of them. I just ordered their product. We'll see how it goes. Thanks a lot! I'll report back soon.

@Henry Gao Hi Henry. I just received my iPad 13" screen protector from ESR. It comes with a plastic tray to help with installation, two protectors, and cleaning kits for $16.99 from Amazon. I tried to review the installation video, but the link was broken. However, it installs just like the other kits I have used. The "bubble chaser" in this kit is the best I have used (I have tried KCT and GhostPaper as well, long story.) The protector went on like a dream, with no bubbles or trapped lint. This is likely because I understand what to look for now. As to the feel of the surface, I like it. I think I will be really happy with this protector. Thanks for the recommendation.
