Distractions
I am guilty of getting distracted by the information overload nowadays. I have been working on limiting my time on my phone, social media, podcasts, etc. However , I do feel I have to stay up to date on current events, and remain informed. Also you can come across some great people, and learning resources from these examples. Do any of you have any tips, or examples of how you stay informed, and find good info without committing too much time and attention that can get out of hand? Seems like I feel I am in a “catch 22” situation where I need to stay informed, but to cut all those examples out completely would also be detrimental.

Staying mindful and knowing my intentions helps me. If i'm looking for information because of the fear of missing out (FOMO) then that hardly ever leads to anything fruitful and becomes a time dump. To be quite honest I use Chat GPT more and more these days and that can help guide me to resources or provide an answer. As far as staying updated on current events, I don't have an answer. I typically stay away from any news because of how sensationalized most of it has become.
Honesty
Something I struggle with is how the hell do I be honest without being a bold asshole? I have this internal conflict of thoughts where I don’t feel I should have to filter what I’m saying to anybody but at the same time I know that words can damage. I’m sure the straight forward answer I’m gonna get is gonna be something along the lines of learning how to communicate assertively yet authentically. A part of me even thinks “why the hell should I even have to learn to do that?” Maybe I’m just young and my ego is big. I understand the value of relationships and how important communication is but maybe I still haven’t fully internalized it because if I’m not being honest with someone in the way that I really want to be honest with them then it physically manifests as a tension in my throat like someone is choking me. Hah! Maybe some of you have even experienced this. If there’s something in the classroom that can help let me know, or if any of you have any personal experience overcoming this let me know as well. Like I said I do see and understand the importance of relationships and communication but that brutally honest part of me in my head is still running strong and conflicting with trying to filter myself in a way that won’t damage my relationships.

@Bryan WIlton Thanks for the response and recommendations. I have some Audible credits so I’ll look into adding these into my library.

Good afternoon. I'd be grateful for some help making a decision. I have been looking to transition to cybersecurity for some time. I now found a way to do that using the Techpreneurs Club (www.techpreneursclub.io). I've had a couple of Zoom meetings with them, including a recent graduate of the program who got a job five months after starting the program. Here is a brief overview of what they do (offer foundational training, set up internship, offer interview coaching, send out resumes, negotiate job offers): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JZFZrN12RYw (starts at 1:50 in the video). The downside of the program is that it's very expensive (35K). I'm not sure what decision to make. I could do this program while I work and take on the debt upfront or take cheap classes at a local community college (or do certifications on my own) and apply for internships and jobs myself. This program could either be too big of a financial risk or the pressure-to-power that I need right now. Not sure. Have a good day and thanks for your help.

35K is a lot. See what you can learn with more affordable and/or free resources. Maybe look into discord servers revolving around what you're trying to do and you'll find experienced people to give you some guidance. I don't do cyber security so it's difficult to say whether it will be worth it or not.

Master of the 24 hour cycle
If you haven’t gotten this program yet I encourage you to do so. Sometimes I really wonder how MC comes up with this stuff. However information is just information until you actually use it. Has anyone found it effective so far? Let’s talk about it!

It's absolutely effective! I was way too strict with the time I'd set for tasks and didn't allow enough flexibility for those inevitable unknown moments that'd push my schedule around. It also helped provide clarity around what the day should consist of, so now my night time planning is more effective I'd say. The only down side is that I didn't get it when it was free! hah! Joking, it was well worth the price! 😉

Looking to form a stronger relationship with myself, and others. MC's insight has peaked my interest for the past 2 years. Excited to be here!
