How do you work on refining your stopping technique, especially when learning new skills?

@Toi MissToi Totally makes sense! Turning around to stop is a solid backup, especially if you’re trying to avoid relying too much on toe stops. Both options give you control, just depends on the situation. Sounds like you’ve got a good system figured out!

@Sharon Wells Nice! Back brake stoppers definitely give that extra sense of control and stability, especially for stopping quickly. If it feels safer for you than a T-stop, then it's definitely the right choice. Plus, it's always good to have options depending on the terrain!
Beginner's question!
What’s your biggest skating challenge at the moment, and how are you working to overcome it?"

@Grace Sigunga I’ve been skating most of my life, but after two major fractures last year, it’s been a tough recovery. I’m finally getting back on skates, and my confidence is starting to return, but I can’t shake this heightened awareness of other skaters around me. It’s definitely a mix of fear and caution after my falls, and I’m still working through that trauma. I’m taking it slow, staying mindful of my surroundings, and trusting the process of regaining both my physical strength and mental comfort.

@Nathaniel Hill I completely agree! Mastering the basics really does lay a strong foundation for everything else. Larry Bird’s advice is spot on practice makes perfect!
30 Day Skate Challenge
Who's down to do a 30 day skate challenge? 30 days of putting your skates on for at least 15-20min and practicing something/anything, even if it's just straight up balancing drills. It's Monday, and there's no day like Today to start something new. I'm working a 10 hr shift but brought my skates into work to put on during my lunch hr. If anyone would like to do their own 30 Day Challenge, let me know. I would love to share some accountability and encouragement 🙏😊

@Isabel Mitzen That’s such a smart strategy!! Running backward really does help build those muscles and improve balance. I’ll definitely give it a try. Thanks for the tip, it’s always great to hear different perspective
What Video Do Yall Want Next?🤔
We have about 30 days left in the 100 days of skate school!🥳 And I want to teach new things I have not covered yet. Of course, I already have my queue of 100+ things that I will continue to put out over time, but your answers will help determine the priority. I am curious what videos do you want to see next?
