Shh... I STOLE this from the A-Z Masterclass
Hey everyone! I made a quick video to highlight some of the exciting things happening inside the masterclass. If you're curious about the questions others like you are asking and how weโ€™re helping them overcome the same challenges, just comment 'Science Fair' and Iโ€™ll send you the full document with this weekโ€™s Q&A! *** I just reached my DM limit. Pls DM me the word science fair instead of commenting*** https://www.loom.com/share/192b83121b694331b8cfc9237ca8e5e1?sid=5a08833e-29f9-48ea-bdfc-5e71d0bbb6a2

Any Advice for a Current Freshman?
Hello everybody, I am currently a freshman seeking out for any advice on extracurricular activities I can do this year. So, let me break down my interests and current things I'm involved with.... I am a STEM-loving student, who is specifically interested in mathematics and life/ engineering-based sciences. While I haven't decided what I want to pursue, I know it's likely going to be along those lines. That being said, let me share out a list of what ECs I'm doing. Keep in mind that this is my first year of HS, so I am trying to explore as well as excel: 1. Math Team (our club takes the AMC 10 with a few AIME qualifiers. We've made and placed top 5 several times at our state competition) 2. Science Olympiad (our varsity team qualifies for state every year. We typically place top 10, but never have qualified for nationals) 3. Business Professionals of America (I know this isn't related to what I want to do, but it will help me explore. We qualify for nationals in a few events, so I think it can take me far) 4. Volunteering (I currently tutor students on an online platform in a variety of math subjects... Aiming to get 100+ hours) 5. Tennis (this is my favorite sport, so I want to stick with it. While I am not so good, it's something fun I would like to do this year) 6. Student council (I am currently one of 30 class representatives for freshmen... Is it worth it to continue with this?) So, I am open to any new clubs/ advice.... One thing that's been on my mind is research, but like many of you, I don't know where to start. I hope each of these activities can take me far, but once again, please critique or give me any advice! My goal is to find something like research to enhance my STEM portfolio. Thank you!!!

I feel like you should do what you love! As Syeda said, pursue engineering and math related activities, though I would suggest exploring a bit in your Freshmen year as well, like joining different clubs and do different activities on the side of your main engineering/math activities. Science fairs are also a great option(there are many great videos online like Rishabโ€™s channel and some posts about Research as well that can help you get started), but in general do what you like and try to create a cohesive story around it.
[Give Away Ended] The Power of Personal Portfolio Websites + Win a Free Domain
In todayโ€™s digital age, establishing an online presence has become increasingly important. This is especially true for high school students who are looking to stand out in a sea of college applications, internships, and scholarship opportunities. One effective way to showcase your skills, achievements, and personality is through a personal portfolio website. Many times, people don't start because they do not want to buy a domain. So I will be giving away 20 .XYZ domains for free for a year, no tricks or anything. Just like the post and your name will be entered to win. If you win, you can choose any available .xyz domain with the website builder included meaning if you are not as comfortable coding it, you can build it easily with the tools and instructions they give you.

Find-a-fair not working?
Hello! I was wondering if anyone else had any trouble with the "Find-a-fair" feature on sciencefair.io. Whenever I click on a county in New Jersey, I get redirected to a page saying "Application error: a server-side exception has occurred (see the server logs for more information)". Anyone knows what that means? Thank you!

Need urgent help with my research
Hello, I am a rising sophomore, and I want to submit a project to qualify for ISEF! However, since it is the summer time, not many professors are responding to my cold emails. They may reply by the end of august or start of September, but I don't want to risk hearing that they cannot take me in. On the other hand, I was thinking of doing a computational independent project, though I don't have coding skills. So should I first decide what topic and research question I want to do my research on(I was thinking of doing something related to biochemistry and find a way to incorporate computation in it) and then figure out what coding skills I need to learn, or do it the other way around. I have a couple of weeks before school starts(like about 3 weeks), and even after school starts, I can try to squeeze in my research work everyday for 1-2 hours, and more on the weekends. Can anyone advise me on how I can make a winning project from scratch, without knowing coding, and if possible give me a brief outline on how I should go about doing research? I would really appreciate it!!
