Honest advice: Skool or YouTube?
Background: I am basically starting from zero here. I have no following - well 96 YouTube subscribers and I have 8 members in my free skool community. I am a doctor and I have been toying everyday with my exact niche. I love personal development and could do videos into that world (make videos for my 15-25 year old self with angle of being a doctor as well). I would talk about mindset, health, fitness etc and preventative/lifestyle medicine. Might add credibility that I am a doctor but I wouldn't be playing the role of an expert or anything. The other idea is that I could make more niche and specific videos to junior doctors and medical students. Eg. OSCE tips, preparing for night shifts, how to overcome burnout etc. This would also be videos helping out my former self. Advantage is would be more specific and could cut deeper to the audience. I am still figuring out my exact niche and therefore what my skool group will be. I feel like best thing for me to do is to start making niche junior doctor and medical student videos and go from there. Ultimately I feel like I will grow into a bigger pool of personal development and lifestyle medicine. I suppose a bit like Ali abdaal. It remains to be seen what my skool group should be. Either medical students/junior doctor resources or hold off until I establish more of a personal development pool. In summary my main question is if you were me what should I be putting all of my focus into right now? I feel like I should focus entirely on YouTube and going from 100 to 1000 subscribers (definitely feel I could do this in 90 days) and forget about skool for now. I think this would make me more clear and confident in the value I can offer people and what group I should target. What do you think? Go 100% on YouTube for the next 90 days and turn to skool after or try and build both at the same time? Much thanks!
