What comes first, the feature or the benefit?
When it comes to writing quality copy for your community, focusing on the benefit of the features is way more important than the features themselves.
Think of the handle that's on every Stanley Tumbler.
The handle is a feature.
But what are the benefits of the handle?
- It makes taking your Stanley to the gym a lot easier
- You can bring it on walks
- It turns your Stanley into a weapon for home intruders
People will join your community when they understand what's in it for them.
In other words, when they see the benefit(s) of what your community provides.
Here's a fun video I made demonstrating this.
