Consulting a kinesiologist
Giving the Mobility category some love here with its first post 🤸‍♀️ I had my first appointment with a kinesiologist yesterday to treat a chronic hip injury I’ve dealt with for the past ~9 years.
Though I’ve been able to be physically active since this injury began, I will feel weakness and pain in my hip flexors if I train them beyond a certain intensity. Playing hockey for too long or running hill sprints one day results in lots of discomfort when I wake up the following day. In recent years I’ve just stayed away from activities that cause the pain to flare up, but I’m now ready to do whatever it takes to be able to run and play hockey the way I used to.
I know this will take a lot of time and discipline, and I can’t wait to start seeing progress. Next appointment is in 2 weeks. Looking forward to seeing what others will share in this category!
