Kumite #8 - Individual C&P Progress
The final Kumite of the year is here! 17 contestants have qualified for the ultimate challenge. Because this time you are not competing against just anyone! Oh no! This time you are up against the final boss! The only one it is truly worth competing against: Yourself! For the month of November your task is to do better than you did before. Your benchmark is the individual score you have achieved doing 5 minutes of Clean & Press in the last Kumite or in preparation for this one. Your job is simple: Beat your own score! Here are the rules: Do 5 minutes of Clean & Press with a single KB. You can do Strict Press, Push Press or Jerk. You may switch hands and put the KB down as many times as you need or want to during an attempt. Time does not stop when you take a break. You cannot switch weights during an attempt. Your final score will be the percentage rate by which you've improved relative to your initial performance plus a kicker. I.e. new score (weight x reps) divided by benchmark score multiplied with 100. Now here comes the kicker: You may post as many videos as you like of attempts that at least meet your benchmark score (no videos below that!). Post with weight used, reps achieved and number of attempt. For every such video you unlock a multiplier that gets applied to your best effort: 1. video: high score * 1 2. video: high score * 1.1 3. video: high score * 1.2 4. video: high score * 1.3 5. video: high score * 1.4 6. video: high score * 1.5 7. video: high score * 1.6 8. video: high score * 1.7 9. video: high score * 1.8 10. video: high score * 2!!! Example: Gregory has done 100 reps with 24kg in the last Kumite. His benchmark is 100 * 24 = 2400 points. Over the course of November he improves his performance and achieves 110 reps with 24kg scoring him 110 * 24 = 2640 points. His improvement score is 2640 / 2400 * 100 = 110, meaning he has improved by 10%. But he has posted 7 eligible videos, so his final score actually is: 2640 / 2400 * 100 * 1.6 = 176

Before the next Kumite
This is to those Kettleboys and Kettlebellas who are *not* participating in the current Kumite. And especially to those, who feel like they can't compare to our strongest members! The next Kumite will start in one week's time. No matter your current level, this one will be worth your while! If you want to participate and are not competing in the current Kumite, here is what I need you to do by Thursday, October 31: Submit a video of your best effort doing Clean & Press/Push Press/Jerk for 5 minutes under this post. Sounds familiar? Yes, there's a reason. All will be revealed next week. So if you want to participate, get moving! Trust me, you don't want to miss out!

Kumite #7 - Mixed Team C&P Results
The numbers are in an gosh was that a finale!!! While it was relatively quiet those past 2 weeks with only a submission now and then the whole thread exploded last weekend! And what an eruption that was! Judging by the video footage everybody has outdone themselves and demonstrated superbly what collaboration and a little competition can make us achieve. So tin my book everyone's a winner! But there can only be one team at the top! The grand champions! Please give a huge round of applause to: @Elissa Boulos and @Ionut Lazau !!!🥳 It couldn't have been any closer at the end, though. While @Lucy Fale and I thought we basically had this in the bag, those 2 kept putting the work in, pushing for the top and set the house on fire 🔥 with their score!!! The results are: 1. @Elissa Boulos and @Ionut Lazau : 5248 2. @Lucy Fale and @Andreas Last : 5198 3. @Tatjana Fischer and @Jarko Van Severen : 4196 Thank you all for making this such a great experience!

Kettlebell Kumite #7 - Mixed Team Clean & Press - Oct 10-27
This Kumite is about a friendly competition in mixed teams. You will form pairs of one Kettle-Boy and one Kettle-Bella to compete together against the other teams in a 5-minute Clean & Press contest. Here is how it works: Find yourself a team partner to work together and motivate each other to new heights! Each of you record a single 5-minute Clean & Press session with a single KB. You can take as many attempts as you like. But only post your best effort. You may switch hands and put the KB down as many times as you need to during those 5 minutes. Time does not stop when you take a break. You cannot switch weights during the session. You can do Strict Press, Push Press or Jerk to get the KB into overhead fixation. Your combined reps and weights will determine your final score as follows: For the rep count both team members have reached you add the 2 weights used up and multiply the result with 2x that rep count. For any reps only one team member has achieved, you count those reps and multiply them with the weight those reps were done. Here is an example: Gregory has achieved 100 reps with 24kg. Angie has achieved 110 reps with 16kg. The score is: Both have done 100 reps with a combined weight of 40kg: 200 * 40 = 8000 points Angie has done an additional 10 reps with 16kg: 10 * 16 = 160 points Final score: 8160 Now all you have to do is find yourself a partner and get goin'! Update: To account for the surplus of Kettle-boys, 2 Kettle-boys can now also be a team, but get their final score miltiplied with 0.667 to stay comparable. E.g. a combined result of 9000 multiplied with 0.667 would come to a final score of 6000.
