Hello everybody.
TikTok has done several test regarding linking users to Spotify (or other streaming platforms) when using music in the app. TikTok's test phase is over, the feature will be launched in USA and United Kingdom. And more territories will follow.
What is it?
It basically comes down to TikTok users being able to save a track to a Spotify playlist or library.
This creates a unique and valuable link between the social media platform and a streaming service.
How does it work?
An 'Add Song' button is placed besides track names in TikTok's 'For You' feed. Tapping the button enables users to save the track to a default playlist (Liked Songs on Spotify and TikTok Songs on Amazon) or any other playlist of choice.
YouTube is not (yet) part of the deal and Apple will be added in the coming months and Amazon will follow.
Tell me your thoughts on this one?
