I Freaking Did It
I went to my first bootcamp since February 3rd and I didn’t quit. I went slow, modified a lot, and finished the class without re-injuring my ankle. I was scared coming back would be like my first class postpartum where I made it 15 mins before I was in tears on the turf (those hormones were ROUGH). But I feel so damn good right now! I used to be stronger, sure, but today I did more than I’ve done in almost seven months and that counts for everything.

“How Are You Going To Do This?”
My husband asked me that question today. How am I going to balance everything? Commuting, working, kids, household tasks, extended family, friends, spending time as a couple. It’s a lot. I’m not going to be able to do it all everyday. I have to make choices, set priorities. Sometimes I’ll choose wrong and feel shitty about it. Sometimes. I will feel like I don’t have a choice (I have to commute and work so we can have my income to live, after all). Sometimes other obligations will require me to get creative with how I hit my macros and get my workout in. But sometimes I will say no to an extended family member wanting me to bring the baby over so that I can go to the gym and that’s okay too.

I know how I am
And I know I focus more when I can hold something So I printed the PDF and a daily log for food, workouts, and engagement in the group (including homework) so that it’s on the table in front of my and never out of sight out of mind I’ll find what works about this setup and be able to build on that to have all of my health resources in one place!

Support
Good morning I hope all is well with everyone this morning! I’m back to reality this morning with an early start at 3:45am to get ready for work. I catch the commuter bus from Hagerstown to Rockville everyday. I’m a case worker at HHS my day is never a dull moment and I’m exhausted by the time I get home by 6pm. I love what I do to help others to get the assistance they need. This is the time I need the mental support because I’m drained and it is hard to find time for myself because I’m normally in bed by 7:30 no later than 8pm.

Since you're on a bus and not the one driving, there are ways you can maximize your commute to get the resources you need for your mental health! I have a therapist who has recommended several books over the years, and I'm 99% sure most of them have audiobook format if you prefer those. When I took the metro to work ten years ago, I would knit while on the train because that was my only real "me" time and I didn't even have kids yet! I can link some recommendations based on what books you're looking for if you'd like!
Pull-up alternative
I don’t have access to a full gym right now. Plenty of dumbbells/kettlebells/bands. I’m thinking lat pulldowns (band) or seated row as an alternative. Thoughts?

I’d defer to a coach for this, but I’ve done dumbbell skull crushers instead of pull ups before!
