Liver cleanse and Oil Massage?
During the 5 days of preparation for the liver flush, is it recommended to avoid putting oil on the skin due to it being absorbed into the tissues and still adding to the liver load to process it? What are the best foods to eat during these 5 days? Broths, salads, green juices, kitchari without ghee? I heard that it’s best not to do a water/pee fast leading up to the flush. Can someone explain the reason? @Cate Stillman @Club Thrive Global @Brenda Green

Yes, try to leave fat out for the prep time (including the oil for skin) the liver shifts its focus from processing dietary fats to softening and loosening the bile and potential build-up within its pathways. This creates a perfect environment for the flush to work its magic. Myself personally, if I felt I needed a very small amount of fat to better sustain myself (usually 1 or 2 of those days it seems necessary for me). Depending on the season you are in, you can go towards the warmer foods or cooling foods as you have listed above. We usually avoid meat as well, so the broth may be better after the flush or just using a vegetable broth in its place during your prep days. The fasting, if you are vata, fasting may be too drying while prepping for the liver flush. You can test it out this time around and see how you do. As you noticed, Cate offered the FMD leading into the liver cleanse and some people did that process. I feel that the urine and adding in daily green juices or smoothies helped with hydration and also makes the fasting easier. If it feels right to you to do the water/pee fast first, I would try it. @Megan Macdonald any recommendations?
Histimine intolerance - from the 10/11/24 live call - some info
@Flora Sanchez I heard you bring this up on Lynne's call. But I didn't hear an actual question. Can you post that? I have some info: Probiotic Choices: While fermented foods are beneficial for gut health, their high histamine content makes them unsuitable for histamine-sensitive individuals. Instead, choose specific probiotic strains that have low histamine-producing potential, such as Lactobacillus rhamnosus and Bifidobacterium infantis. A liver cleanse may be the most effective approach to overcome it all together. If a person is pitta dosha, lower percentages of fermented or cultured foods is key. Like only 5% compared to 15% of diet and tuning inward to notice when the body needs to skip fermented a day or two. It takes a bit more creative effort to incorporate microbiome foods while balancing an imbalance.

@Yulia Azriel pitta dosha may only tolerance a much smaller percentage of fermented foods. Cultured foods maybe better or trying miso. It takes some experimenting to see what foods work best and in what amounts. She may not have histamine intolerance.

Thank you everyone that took part in this detox
I enjoyed everyone that attended the live calls and those that respond and post here in our community. All of you support us as mentors just as much as we like to be here for you. I loved our PowerHour week, that was really cool to experience. My liver cleanse went extremely well, well timed and a lot of stones did come out. Insight from this time around - the food cravings near and after flushing are not real ones, they are visuals of foods that are attached to strong memories. Those are symbolic for or offer a message about what you are releasing this time. I say that because, I didn't initially eat what I craved, I did a few days later. Any of them I tried, I didn't like the taste, it was too heavy. I went back to eating light. That is what gave me the opportunity to understand this part of the liver cleansing. I love the spiritual time after the "channels" in the body are clear. Those Divine downloads of information are clear and very useful. It is the part I look forward to each time. Each time I extended my higher vibrational time to accomplish what isn't possible on a regular day. I highly encourage anyone new to give it a try. I was uneasy about it at first till one day Cate said, just do it! I did, only a few days, but I had a tremendous benefit even from that. I feel you can potentially add years to your life by doing this cleanse. It is really amazing. So glad I am back on track. I am eating plenty of microbiome foods. I am taking a probiotic for a while after doing this too. I added 4 capsules into my last colon flush this morning. Because of @Megan Macdonald I highly value this process with urine therapy and how much easier it is on my body in doing so. I feel I recovered quickly following the flushing. I again, took notes each day and did some reflections as well.
