Found this interesting CD player online and thought it would make an interesting model. While the process was relatively straightforward, texturing it was another story. To simplify modeling I cut the initial two shapes - a circle and a square into quarters and modeled it from there. Once the quarter model was done I did a circular array and joined the four quarters together. So far so good. I then did a Bridge transfer to Blender and it was here that a texturing nightmare appeared as Blender 'saw' the four quarters and after an hour trying to get things right I decided to try exporting an obj file. This worked fine but choosing seams was a total pain in the arse and another hour down the drain, so back to Plasticity where I separated the parts that made texturing much simpler. This time it all worked fine and this is the result. My advice is that if you're sending a model to blender you're probably better off splitting your model into component parts it you intend texturing them. In this case the wood texture could not be done eaily with Plasticity Bridge, but was simple from an obj file.
