My take on this is that the adversity habits make the body grow. Comfort lets you rest but won't make you adapt or change anything. It's the cyclical change between both states that is the source of health.

@Barbie Londo It can upset your stomach and the taste is quite pungent. I've used drops directly in the mouth but enemas are easiest and are part of my routine. You would already be mega dosing with just one drop of 5% which contains 6.5mg., the RDA being ridiculously low (and totally inadequate) at 125 MICROGrams 😂 It's made me much more relaxed and focused as well. Best antidepressant ever.

@Juliet Cullins your drops might not be the right formula to be able to absorb it well. Lugol is what I've been taking. Apparently nacent is great, too. This is a copy paste from what I found on the web: * Lugol's iodine: This is a liquid solution that contains 5% elemental iodine and 10% potassium iodide. It's often used as a disinfectant and antiseptic, and can also be used to treat iodine deficiency. * Povidone-iodine (Betadine): This is a topical solution that contains 1-2% available iodine. It's often used to disinfect skin and wounds, and can also be used to treat fungal and bacterial infections. * Nascent iodine: This is a liquid solution that contains 1-2% elemental iodine. It's often used as a dietary supplement to support thyroid health and immune function. * Iodophor: This is a type of iodine solution that contains a combination of iodine and a surfactant. It's often used as a disinfectant and sanitizer in food processing and other industries. I believe its mucolytic action is what has been helping me get rid of the gunk in my trunk (literally!! my nose throat and lungs). (Had to look up mucolytic: mucolytic is a medication that breaks up mucus in the respiratory tract to make it easier to clear from the lungs.)
Sauerkraut Recipes…
What flavourings/add ins do you add when making sauerkraut? I’ve always added fennel seeds but one I bought recently (while I wait for mine to brew) has tumeric. It started me wondering what else could be used. Thought I’d tap into the expertises here - what are your favourite flavourings/add ins when making sauerkraut? Thanks in advance for all your suggestions. It will help continue my slight obsession with sauerkraut at the moment!

I haven't tried all of these but they are on my to-do list: Caraway, bay leaf, coriander seed, mustard seed, juniper berries, dill, celery seed. Maybe garlic. There's the El Salvadorian version with oregano and hot pepper. Apparently the main point is to slow mold formation with the spices but they make for great experiments that never will fail if the veg is well submerged.
