wanted to make the calculations even easier for people
just click "file -> make a copy" and then play around with it
variables you can change are:
- Price (E10)
- Sales Conversion Rate (E8)
- Free Conversion Rate (E6)
- About Page Visitors (E5)
this really helps visualise how the tiniest change in key variables can create massive swings in MRR
example (using avg 18% free and 4% paid conversion rates)
- 1,000 about page visitors
- 180 free members
- 7.2 paying members
- $1000 price point = $7,200 MRR
if I add an extra 200 visitors a month, bump my conversion rates 2%, MRR looks like this π
- 1,200 about page visitors
- 240 free members (an extra 60)
- 14.4 paying members
- $14,400 MRR
that's a 2x MRR from just a tiny % increase in each metric
small hinges shift large doors π₯
by seeing this objectively, it's easy to choose where to focus energy to make improvements to your traffic and conversion systems ...
... then the game becomes focusing all energy to improving that key metric and watching the outcome change
that allows you to create velocity as you have a destination in mind (speed + direction = velocity)
which is more beneficial than just speed alone
hope you found this super nerdy content valuable!

ps: added basic "advertising metrics" to the spreadsheet to work out CAC, cost per click, etc based on your proposed monthly ad spend
