I've been a fan of Jon M. Chu for the longest. Like the Step up Movies are my favorite dance movies because they just represented the part of me that grew up wanting to be a dancer. I'm gonna need to make a whole other post about my love for him, but let's talk about what he did with the masterpiece that is Wicked. DISCLAIMER I have *not* watched the Broadway Musical nor I have read the multiple books that the musical is based on. I'm gonna talk about strictly of this movie directed by Jon M. Chu. The casting of this movie is the best thing that the movie has. Ariana Grande was born to play Galinda/Glinda. The comedic timing, the singing, the dancing, the acting, the PINK PERSONIFICATION. And not in one moment I felt like she was overplaying it, or underpaying it. Cynthia Erivo.. man what a performance. The depth she gives to Elphaba is breathtaking and hypnotizing. I related to her character the most, just for the way she cares for others and I admire her for standing up for what she believes in even if it keeps alienatining her from others. HER SINGING is out of this world, and I really hope she makes history by earning the missing O to her EGOT. The movie is 2hrs and a half, even though it feels stretched out, I think all that the movie gives us is needed to bring the story to the conclusion it had. I'm dreading the 1 year wait for part 2, but I respect the process. 100% reccomend for all of you to see this movie, and if you saw it already tell me what you thought! A few days ago I saw this movie and I having an internal debate as to how I should talk about it so here is goes. As a Marvel fan, there's a lot of talk about what this movie represents and what it could mean for Venom moving forward. Does it represent the end of Venom and the beginning of another symbiote story (Scream)? Or does it convinientely leave out what happened to the sample Venom left in that Mexican bar + Dani Rojas (they never said his name so that's how I'm identifying him)? As a moviegoer, I was entertained by this movie and the new characters introduced. Mrs. Chen is the most iconic and memorable character cameo in this movie. The Doctor twin (Dr. Payne) that could get her priorities rearranged but is empathetic, and Doctor Christmas🎄 (don't remember her name) which I honestly identified, being Dr. Payne moral compass. And who can forget Martin and his family which gave this movie an emotional edge I didn't even know it needed. My rating is 8/10, and I recommend you watch it so we can geek out together! And remember "We... Are... VENOM!"

Yesterday I watched Conclave, directed by Edward Berger. Based also on a book, the film is perfectly crafted and acted. Ralph Fiennes is phenomenal in his portrayal of a cardinal trying to maintain tradition without ignoring the flaws of the Catholic Church. The secrets, the conspiracy, the internal fights for power within one of the oldest institutions in history is laid out thru its characters. I liked the film very much, just think the ending scene wasn’t as powerful as the rest. Let me know your thoughts when you watch it.
